Riho expected to miss three months due to broken collarbone
Riho is expected to miss three months due to a broken collarbone. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio gave more information about the injury and her expected return timeline on the latest episode of the show.
Riho was injured at some point early in the match against Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Battle of the Belts back on January 8. The exact spot where she was injured is still unknown.
On January 27, Riho posted a picture on social media with her arm in a sling, letting fans know that she is “taking a rest a little.”
Riho was the first woman to hold the AEW women’s title, picking that title up with a victory over Nyla Rose on the first edition of AEW Dynamite on October 2, 2019. She held the belt for 133 days before losing the title to Nyla Rose on the February 12, 2020, edition of the same show.
Riho is a central part of the AEW women’s division and has continued to pick up wins across AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation, picking up wins over the likes of Trish Adora, Jamie Hayter, Valentina Rossi, Skye Blue, Maki Itoh, and many others.
