February 2 was a big date for many individuals who were released from WWE. It marked their entry into the free-agent pool, with fans ready to see where they will perform next. Wednesday night it was revealed that Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon, will take on Thunder Rosa at Warrior Wrestling 19 on Saturday, February 12.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful was the first to report the news via Twitter.

Athena was released back in November of 2021, with multiple other names, marking another group of wrestlers or backstage performers cut during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Athena was last seen back in WWE NXT in October when she dropped a match to current NXT Women’s Champion, Mandy Rose. Before that she was involved in many rivalries at the top of the NXT card, including taking on Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT In Your House back in June of that year. She was back on NXT after what many would describe as an uneventful run on the WWE main roster due to sporadic booking and lack of true direction.

During her time in WWE, Athena would earn the NXT Women’s Championship and win the NXT Tag Team titles with Shotzi Blackheart.
