Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley battled in a bloody contest, where Moxley pulled out a victory that surprised and angered Danielson. The two men brawled for a moment until security ran out to separate them. But the surprise was William Regal walking down to the ring to put both men in their places.

Regal pulled Moxley and Danielson apart, making both men stand up straight in the middle of the ring. He then peppered them both with slaps to the face, imploring them to shake hands. Danielson and Moxley did so in what seems to be the catalyst of their partnership, but with the wrinkle of Regal added to the equation.

Just like the debutant Shane Strickland, Regal was one of the many names released by WWE. He had a long tenure with the company, and though his wrestling days were long gone, his biggest role came as the general manager of WWE NXT. He was the on-air leader of the brand through its high points but was dismissed with the brand taking the NXT 2.0 look and feel known today.

William Regal’s professional wrestling career is adorned with championships across many promotions. He was a multiple-time WWF European Champion, Hardcore Champion, WCW World Television Champion, Tag Team Champion, and Intercontinental Champion.

It will be interesting to see how All Elite Wrestling utilizes William Regal in an angle with Moxley and Danielson as a tag team. Neither man needs a mouthpiece, but Regal does represent the old-school level of violence that Moxley and Danielson bring to the ring.
