WWE Smackdown Results: Brock Lesnar Gets The Best Of Roman Reigns
Tonight’s Smackdown comes to us live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Tonight we will see the fallout of Brock Lesnar’s attack on The Bloodline last week, Sasha Banks vs Rhea Ripley vs Shayna Baszler vs Queen Zelina in a fatal-4-way match, and Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jimmy Uso.
The show kicks off with a video package that highlighted recent events between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. After the video package, we see Brock Lesnar standing in the back waiting by Roman Reigns locker room. He gets interviewed by Kayla Braxton who asks about his consequences for last week.
Brock says he brought a new SUV for Roman, and he spoke with upper management who let him know that unless he’s provoked, he’s not allowed to contact Roman Reigns. Brock says he will hang out in Roman’s locker room until someone provokes him and heads into the room.
Brock sits on the couch to watch Smackdown and puts his feet on the coffee table and breaks it intentionally. We then see Rick Boogs out on the entrance ramp hyping up the crowd. Boogs plays Shinsuke Nakamura out and Nakamura makes his way to the ring. McAfee is also seen having a fun time dancing to Nakamura’s theme song. They show a recap video of what happened between the teams last week.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Jimmy Uso
After Nakamura makes his entrance, the Usos come down to the ring. Right off the bat, everyone starts brawling and Smackdown cuts to commercial. After the commercial break, order seems to have been restored and we have a one-on-one match.
Uso quickly takes out Nakamura and poses with his brother after. The two then engage in some chain wrestling in the early going of the match. Nakamura goes for one of his lethal kicks but Uso ducks and makes his way to the corner to regroup.
Shinsuke hits his patented “COME ONNN” pose at Jimmy Uso and then continues to beat up Uso. Nakamura slams Uso’s head in every corner of the ring before hitting him while he was seated in the corner. Nakamura hits a running knee on Uso who is draped over the apron.
Uso was able to hit a back-drop on Shinsuke and is now in control of this match. Uso is able to send Nakamura out of the ring and goes to hit a suicide dive but Nakamura hits him with a kick. Uso is in control of this match after a commercial break, but we see Nakamura fight back.
Nakamura takes the fight to Uso. He uses his famous kicks and knees to get the momentum back in this match. Nakamura called for his finishing move on Jimmy Uso. However, outside the ring, we see Jey Uso jump Rick Boogs which distracts Nakamura. Jimmy hits a superkick on Nakamura for a two-count.
Jey Uso goes to hand Jimmy the guitar, but Boogs takes the guitar and hits Jey into the turnbuckle post. Nakamura is able to hit his finisher on Jimmy and pins him for the three-count.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
Smackdown then shows a “Raw Rebound” of Kevin Owens coming out dressed up as Stone Cold on Raw. It’s also announced that WrestleMania Saturday will feature the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin. We then see Brock Lesnar hanging out in Reigns locker room and messing it up even more.
We then see Pat McAfee and Michael Cole promoting the Hall of Fame induction ceremony that will be taking place next Friday after Smackdown. They also announce Shad Gaspard as the recipient of the Warrior Award.
The camera cuts to Kayla Braxton interviewing Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says his match with Corbin on WrestleMania Saturday is personal. McIntyre says he can take Corbin out whenever he wants but he will do it at WrestleMania with the most eyeballs watching. They show a hype video of Happy Corbin’s career from being depressed to happy.
After the video package, we see Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss watching it from the back. Corbin says his life is so much better. Corbin says he should be given an academy award for the happiest man in a leading film when he beats Drew at WrestleMania.
Sheamus makes his way to the ring and is flanked by Ridge Holland and …sigh… Butch. Ridge Holland is in action up next against Kofi Kingston. Kofi Kingston hopes to get revenge for Big E’s injury when he battles Holland.
After Holland makes his entrance, Kofi makes his. Kofi comes out with a microphone and says that when they said Ridge would have a match against the New Day he wasn’t talking about himself. King Woods makes his return back to Smackdown for the first time in a number of months with a new crown.
Ridge Holland vs Xavier Woods
Woods kicks Holland in the gut to kick off the match. Woods uses his speed and quickness to get the best of Holland early on in the match. But Holland is able to hit Woods in the leg and quickly take control of this match.
Xavier very quickly rolls up Holland for the three-count out of nowhere. Sheamus and Butch run in the ring but Kofi and Xavier escape before they can catch them.
Winner: Xavier Woods
After the match, a message from Roman Reigns appears on the screen and shows him and Heyman sitting in the back of a car. Reigns says he went to the best steakhouse in all of NYC and stopped at MSG. He warns Brock that he better leave his locker room before he gets to the Barclays Center or he will take him out.
Ronda Rousey makes her way out to the ring next. They show a hype video for their match at WrestleMania for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Rousey gets on the mic and says she’s not going to take her title. She says that Charlotte will have to give it to her when she wins it.
Rousey says we can call her the Smackdown Champion after WrestleMania and calls out Charlotte to get her “barbie a**” out there. Charlotte appears on the big screen and says she won’t step foot in that low-rent city known as Brooklyn and gets booed for it.
Rousey says that when she was 14 she broke her first arm and liked it. Charlotte says that she has run out of ways to hurt her, and says that if she was there live tonight, she would throw her off the Brooklyn Bridge.
Rousey says that if Charlotte beats her at WrestleMania it will be the biggest victory of her career, but when Rousey beats her at WrestleMania, Charlotte will just be another broken arm for Rousey.
We then see Kayla Braxton come and interview Lesnar in Roman’s locker room. She asks if he thinks he should leave before Roman arrives. Lesnar says he’s having too much fun and says he will be running out of things to smash in his room.
Champions Contender’s Match: Ricochet (c) vs Angel
Ricochet makes his way out first, followed by Los Lotharios. We see another edition of the Los Lotharios kiss cam. They found someone in the audience to give a kiss to. If Humberto is able to pick up a win, he earns a future Intercontinental Championship opportunity.
The match starts off with Angel ending up wrestling Ricochet after it was said to be Humberto. The match starts off with a fast pace but Angel is able to slow down Ricochet when he pulls him off the top rope and sends Ricochet crashing on his neck.
Angel remains in control of this match until Ricochet is able to use his high-flying moves to get back into the match. Ricochet goes for another high-flying move but thanks to a distraction by Humberto, Angel counters and rolls him up for a three-count.
Winner: Angel
After the match, Ricochet says it’s not going to happen like that. Ricochet says that he challenges Humberto to a match right now and we get another impromptu match.
Ricochet vs Humberto
Ricochet and Humberto start the match out by throwing fists at each other. Ricochet uses his quickness to take the fight to Humberto in the early going. Ricochet sends Humberto out of the ring and hits him with a big move over the top rope while Humberto is on the floor.
After the commercial break, we see Humberto in firm control of the match. However, Ricochet is quickly able to fight back into it with his evasive and high-energetic offense. Ricochet hits a springboard moonsault off the second rope.
Angel distracts Ricochet and Humberto tries to roll him up but Ricochet is able to kickout. Ricochet hits a vertical suplex for another two-count. Ricochet makes his way to the top rope but Angel is able to drag Humberto out of the ring. Ricochet takes out Angel on the outside instead.
Ricochet hits a tornado DDT onto Humberto using the announce table. Ricochet throws Humberto back in the ring but gets counted out when Angel holds his feet while hiding under the ring.
Winner: Humberto
After the match, we see Sami Zayn getting interviewed backstage. He is asked about his match with Johnny Knoxville coming up at WrestleMania. Sami Zayn says he is two steps ahead of Knoxville. He says that he promises he will hurt Johnny Knoxville in their anything goes match.
Sami Zayn promises to punish Johnny Knoxville in a way that has never been seen in a WWE ring before. The camera cuts to the commentators and Austin Theory attempts to punk about McAfee but McAfee chases him into the back. Theory runs into McMahon’s room and McAfee bangs on the door.
Michael Cole announces Triple H’s retirement and the fans cheer when they share the images on the big screen. Cole and McAfee both thank Triple H and say they wouldn’t be where they are today without him.
Sasha Banks vs Rhea Ripley vs Shayna Baszler vs Queen Zelina
Sasha Banks makes her entrance first and is followed by Shayna Baszler, Queen Zelina, and Rhea Ripley. The match starts off with Zelina running out of the ring and Natalya pulling Shayna Baszler from the ring. Rhea and Sasha remain in the ring to start off the match.
Sasha uses her quickness to get the best of Rhea. Baszler tries to hit Sasha from behind but Sasha moves and sends her into Rhea. Zelina trips up Sasha and drags her out of the ring. Zelina slams Sasha on the announce table and all hell breaks loose with all eight women start going at it and Smackdown cuts to commercial.
When it comes back from the commercial break, we see all four women going at it in the ring still. Zelina tries to cover each of the women but gets a two-count every time. Sasha locks in the bank statement on Zelina, Baszler comes in and prevents Zelina from tapping. Sasha locks in the bank statement on both women at the same time.
Rhea breaks it up with a dropkick. Rhea goes for a riptide on Baszler, but Baszler counters into her finishing move. Sasha hits both women with a backstabber. Rhea takes out Baszler from the apron and Zelina takes out Rhea from the apron.
Zelina is the last woman standing and goes to pin Sasha. Sasha locks in her finishing move on Zelina and forces her to tap to give herself the victory.
Winner: Sasha Banks
After the match, we see a car pull up and Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman get out of the car. Heyman says he doesn’t feel so well but Roman says they will be fine, but Brock won’t be.
It’s announced that next week will feature the Andre The Giant Battle Royale next week on Smackdown. We will also see Ricochet vs Angel vs Humberto for the Intercontinental Championship live next week on Smackdown.
Roman makes his way out to the ring, accompanied by his special council Paul Heyman. Heyman grabs the microphone and hands it to Roman Reigns. Roman tells Brooklyn to acknowledge him which gets a massive cheer from the crowd. He then asks Heyman if Brock is still in his locker room.
Heyman says he doesn’t know and starts crying. Roman says that if Brock is still in his locker room, he will personally come back there and put his head through the wall. We then see a video of Roman’s locker room and it’s a mess but Brock isn’t there anymore.
Roman looks furious and the fans are chanting “SUPLEX CITY” loud. Roman then gets frustrated and says this is the “island of relevancy.” Brock Lesnar pops up on the big screen. Brock destroys Roman’s car that he drove to the arena in.
Roman tells Brock there won’t be any weapons allowed at WrestleMania and Brock makes his way out to the ring. Roman’s face looks like he just saw a ghost. Lesnar makes his way through the crowd and hops up on the announce table and has a staredown with Reigns.
Security rushes out to the arena to keep Brock and Roman apart. However, Brock Lesnar grabs a steel chair and takes out the security guards with ease. Lesnar runs into the ring but the Usos and Reigns retreat up the ramp before Lesnar can get them.
Lesnar continues beating the hell out of the security guards with a chair. He goes after McAfee and Cole but they leave into the audience. Lesnar hops back up on the announce table and poses. Roman comes on the big screen and says at WrestleMania, Brock will acknowledge him as the Undisputed Universal Champion.
