The “Showcase of the Immortals,” WrestleMania, has been home to some of the best matches and some of the best main events in professional wrestling or sports-entertainment history. We’ve seen the best in the world go at it on the “grandest stage of them all,” WrestleMania, and this year looks to be no different.

5. Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns- WrestleMania 31

This was arguably one of the coolest moments and matches in WrestleMania history, in recent memory. Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns put on an absolute war in the middle of the ring, that actually saw neither of them win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when the dust settled and everything was said and done.

The way this was executed was perfect. With Lesnar and Reigns both down in the ring, all of a sudden you hear “The Architect” Seth Rollins’ theme song hit, and everyone knew what was about to happen. Rollins joined the match, cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase, and committed the heist of the century winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31.

4. The Rock vs John Cena- WrestleMania 28

The original once-in-a-lifetime match. Unfortunately, it turned out to be twice in a lifetime when the two met a year later at WrestleMania 29 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, the two larger-than-life stars put on an absolute clinic at WrestleMania 28.

In the 30-minute main event that capped off a great WrestleMania 28, The Rock was ultimately victorious in his home state of Florida. The way it ended was great as well with John Cena getting a little too cocky and going for the people’s elbow only to be caught by a Rock Bottom.

3. Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels- WrestleMania 26

What more is there to really say about this match. The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, two of the greatest of all time, going at it in arguably the biggest match in WrestleMania history. This match was billed as the streak vs the career match where if Shawn Michaels lost he would be forced to retire.

Unfortunately, all great things must come to an end, and at WrestleMania 26 we saw the end of Shawn Michaels’ career at the hands of The Undertaker. In the finishing moments of the match, you saw Shawn use Undertaker’s own taunt against him and end up losing the match while going out in style. This was a brilliantly booked final singles match of Michaels’ career.

2. Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle- WrestleMania 19

This main event had it all and was one of the greatest matches in WWE history. Heading into the match, Kurt Angle was the WWE Champion at the time and was taking on his biggest challenge yet, a young upstart in Brock Lesnar.

The match saw it all. In the end, Brock Lesnar was able to win the WWE Championship and start off his legacy at WrestleMania 19 by beating one of the best to ever do it. Lesnar went for a shooting star press as well in the match and almost broke his neck but was able to fight through it and win, making it all the more impressive.

1. Randy Orton vs Batista vs Daniel Bryan- WrestleMania 30

Arguably, this was the greatest main-event match in WrestleMania history. Daniel Bryan had to qualify for this match earlier in the night when he faced Triple H, one-on-one. Bryan would ultimately beat Triple H but it wasn’t an easy task. After their match, Triple H injured Bryan’s shoulder and made him even more of an underdog heading into the main event.

Daniel Bryan came out at the end of WrestleMania 30 for the match with his shoulder taped up. Even after all the shenanigans, Bryan overcame the odds and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He also had 80,000 people chanting “YES” in unison to end the night, creating arguably one of the best moments in WrestleMania history.
