WrestleMania Night One: New Champions and A Massive Return

The day has come! Night one of WrestleMania takes place tonight, Saturday, April 2nd. The show is headlined by a bunch of big matches and moments. However, the main event is the much anticipated “KO Show” where Kevin Owens has called out “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos vs Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs

Night one of WrestleMania kicks off with the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match. Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura make their entrance first. This entrance also features Pat McAfee dancing, as usual. The Usos make their entrance next, and the match introductions take place.

Nakamura starts the match out with Jimmy Uso and quickly hits Uso with a flurry of kicks. Nakamura gets on the offense early, but thanks to a double-team move by the Usos, Jey is able to tag himself in and regain control of the match.

Nakamura quickly fights back, but to no avail, as Jey stops him in his tracks. Nakamura is finally able to tag in Boogs and Boogs takes the fight to both Usos. Boogs shows an impressive display of strength by picking up both Usos. But, the weight of the Usos caused Boogs knee to give out.

Boogs crawls to the corner, unable to walk, and tags in Nakamura. Nakamura continues to take the fight to Jey. However, the Uso’s are able to regain control of the match and get a near fall on Nakamura when Jimmy hits a splash.

The Usos are able to take out Nakamura while Boogs remains injured on the floor at ringside. After a double-team move, Jimmy Uso is able to pin Nakamura to retain the Smackdown tag team championship.

Winner: And Still Smackdown Tag Team Champions, The Usos

After the match, The Uso’s walk up the ramp and pose with their Smackdown Tag Team Championships as Rick Boogs gets medical attention. Hope for the best for Rick Boogs. A vignette is shown for the upcoming match between Happy Corbin and Drew McIntyre.

Happy Corbin vs Drew McIntyre

Happy Corbin makes his entrance first accompanied by Madcap Moss. A determined Drew McIntyre makes his way out next and he looks ready to beat up Happy Corbin. The bell rings and McIntyre goes right after Corbin.

McIntyre quickly takes the fight to Corbin but Corbin attempts to counter with a kick to the gut. However, McIntyre takes out Corbin and sends him to the floor. Corbin is finally able to gain control of the match as he caught McIntyre climbing into the ring with a knee and sends him into the ring post.

McIntyre tries to fight back, but Corbin sends him into the corner, buckling his back. Corbin remains in firm control of this match. Moss accidentally distracts Corbin and this leads to McIntyre hitting Corbin with a spinebuster. McIntyre is now officially back in this match.

McIntyre catches Corbin and throws him across the ring. McIntyre attempts to hit his Futureshock DDT, but Corbin reverses and hits him with a Deep Six for a near fall. McIntyre quickly gets back on the offensive and calls for the Claymore Kick, but Moss pulls Corbin out of the ring.

This leads to McIntyre going high risk and taking out both Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. McIntyre picks up Moss and throws him across the floor. McIntyre attempts a high-risk move on Corbin but Corbin counters. McIntyre attempts the Claymore but Corbin counters and hits an End of Days for a very close near fall.

This was the first time anyone has ever kicked out of the End of Days. Corbin lifts up Drew but out of nowhere, McIntyre hits him with a Futureshock DDT. McIntyre calls for the Claymore Kick and pins Happy Corbin to pick up the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, McIntyre picks up his sword and poses with it. Moss attempts to come into the ring and McIntyre stops him in his tracks with the sword. McIntyre cuts the ring ropes with the sword and that sends Moss flying to the floor. A vignette is shown for the upcoming match between The Mysterio’s and The Miz and Logan Paul.

The Mysterio’s vs The Miz and Logan Paul

The Mysterios make their entrance first. The Miz comes out next and is followed by Logan Paul, who has some awesome ring gear for this match. The match starts off with The Miz and Rey Mysterio kicking things off.

Thanks to a distraction by Paul, Miz quickly goes on the offense. Miz tags in Paul as Rey is trapped in their corner. Paul hits Rey with shots to the ribs, but Rey is quickly able to go on the offense. This leads Paul to tag in Miz and Rey to tag in his son, Dominik.

Dominik Mysterio takes out both Miz and Paul. Thanks to a cheap shot by Paul, Miz is able to gain the upper hand in this match. Miz tags in Paul and Paul takes the fight to Dominik. However, Paul makes a quick tag into Miz and the two hit double kicks on Dominik.

Miz remains in control of the match. Miz makes the tag into Paul and Paul hits a high-flying move on Dominik which was awesome to see. Paul tags The Miz back in as the two remain in control of Dominik.

Dominik is finally able to make the tag in on Rey and Rey comes in and takes out The Miz with his high-flying offense. Rey goes for a pinfall but Paul is able to break it up. Miz and Paul go for a double suplex but Dominick makes the save for Rey.

Rey attempts a 619 on Miz but Miz counters. However, Rey is still able to hit a tornado DDT on Miz. Rey goes for the Three Amigos, but Miz counters after the second. Paul tags himself in and poses to the crowd. Paul hits the Three Amigos on Rey.

Paul makes his way to the top rope and hits Rey with a frog splash. Dominik makes the save and hits a suicide dive on The Miz. Dominik chases Paul into the ring and Rey hits him with a 619 out of nowhere.

However, Miz tags in himself and hits a Skull Crushing Finale on Rey to pick up the victory for his team.

Winners: The Miz and Logan Paul

After the match, Miz hits a Skull Crushing Finale on Paul out of nowhere. The Miz leaves the ring and Paul has a staredown with Paul as Miz makes his way up the ramp. After the match, Stephanie McMahon makes her entrance.

McMahon says that she just wanted to come out and say “thank you” to the fans. She introduces Gable Stevenson to the WWE Universe. Gable makes his way out and poses with Stephanie. They hype up his WWE debut and then leave the stage. A vignette is shown for Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair.

Raw Women’s Championship Match: Becky Lynch (c) vs Bianca Belair

Becky Lynch gets a special entrance and makes her way out to the ring first. Bianca Belair comes out next and also has a special entrance featuring the Texas Southern University marching band. The match starts off with Belair extending a hand to Lynch. Becky smacks her and hits her finisher out of nowhere.

This only gets a two-count and it was a nice way to start off the match. Lynch stays on the offensive and quickly pins Belair over and over again. It looks like she is questioning whether or not she can beat Belair here tonight.

Belair hits a suplex but Lynch counters with one of her own and tries to pin her again. She gets another two-count. Lynch makes her way to the top and attempts a moonsault, but Belair moves out of the way. Belair locks in Lynch’s finishing move but Lynch counters and attempts another pinfall on Belair but to no avail.

Finally, after all the covers and all the reversals, Lynch is able to gain control of the match by throwing Belair into the steel steps. Lynch is now in firm control of this match. Belair attempts to fight back into the match, but Lynch remains on the offensive and stops Belair in her tracks.

Becky locks in a triangle choke, but Belair uses her strength to throw Becky Lynch outside of the ring. However, Lynch uses Belair’s momentum and pulls Belair out of the ring with her. Belair hits an awesome move on the outside and suplexes Lynch on the floor as the ref counts.

Belair throws Lynch into the corner and takes the fight to her. Belair is now in control of this match. Belair hits a slam on Lynch and follows that up with a running moonsault for a two-count. Belair makes her way to the top rope, but Lynch stops her in her tracks.

Lynch makes her way to the middle rope and attempts a superplex on Belair. But, Belair counters and hits Lynch with a move of her own. Belair makes her way back up to the middle rope and hits a 450 splash on Lynch. Belair pins Lynch for a two-count.

Belair sets up Lynch on the apron and attempts to knock her off, but Lynch counters and takes out Belair. Lynch makes her way to the top and knocks out Belair. Out of nowhere, Belair hits a spinebuster and goes for a running moonsault, but Becky counters.

Belair hits a KOD onto Becky sending Becky out of the ring. Belair throws Lynch back into the ring but Lynch rolls out the other side to evade the pinfall. Lynch slams Belair’s head into the ring post and hits a Manhandle Slam onto the stairs on Becky.

Belair almost gets counted out but makes it in at the count of nine. Lynch goes for a manhandle slam but Belair counters and hits Lynch with a KOD to pin her and become the new Raw Women’s Champion.

Winner: Bianca Belair

After the match, Belair poses in the ring with the Raw Women’s Championship. WWE then airs a vignette for the upcoming match for Seth Rollins.

Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs ???

Seth Rollins gets a special entrance and makes his way out to the ring first. After a little bit of a wait, the pyro hits, and the lights go out. Cody Rhodes music hits and Rhodes makes his way out to the ring! WOW!

After the dust has settled and the entrances are over, the match starts with a feeling-out process of sorts. There is some chain wrestling to start the match and Cody showboats to the crowd. Rollins hits Cody with a shoulder block and the two continue some mat wrestling. Cody hits Rollins with a shoulder block of his own.

Rollins punches Cody, which only seems to piss Cody off. Cody hits Rollins with a flurry of punches. Cody and Rollins take a nasty spill to the outside while attempting suplexes on each other. Rhodes continues to remain on the offense outside of the ring before throwing Rollins back inside.

Rhodes remains on the offense keeping Rollins grounded inside the ring. Cody makes his way to the top and attempts a cross body onto Rollins, but Rollins counters with a dropkick and gets back in this match. Rollins is in control of the match now and is targeting Cody’s ribs.

Cody is able to fight back into the match and hits a moonsault from the top rope onto a standing Seth Rollins for a two-count. However, Rollins counters Cody and continues to remain in control of the match. Rollins hits a buckle bomb onto Rhodes against the barricade and throws him back into the ring. He follows that up with a flying knee and a falcon arrow for a two-count.

Rollins calls for the stomp, but Cody counters and hits Rollins with a Cross Rhodes. Rollins kicks out at two and the crowd is extremely into this match. Rhodes makes his way back to the top and looks to hit another moonsault, but Rollins takes the legs out of Rhodes and follows him to the top.

Rollins gets elbowed and falls to the mat, but jumps back up and hits an inverted superplex from the top rope and pins Cody for a two-count. Rollins makes his way to the top rope, and goes for a phoenix splash, but Cody counters and attempts a pedigree.

Rollins counters the pedigree and attempts a pinfall but Rhodes kicks out. Rhodes hits a Tiger Bomb on Rollins and follows that up with a Cody Cutter for a two-count. Out of nowhere, Rollins hits a Pedigree on Rhodes, but Rhodes kicks out at the count of two.

The two start throwing punches at each other in the middle of the ring. Rollins attempts a Stomp but Rhodes hits two Cross Rhodes and follows that up with the Bionic Elbow and one final Cross Rhodes. Rhodes pins Rollins and picks up the victory.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

After the match, Cody poses in the middle of the ring and the fans cheer. Cody Rhodes is officially back with the WWE. A video is shown from the Hall of Fame ceremony last night, and they honor the inductees on the stage and give Undertaker his own entrance. A vignette is shown for the upcoming match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.

Smackdown Women’s Championship Match: Charlotte Flair (c) vs Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey makes her way to the ring first. She is followed by Charlotte who then makes her entrance down to the ring. The match starts off with a collar-elbow tie-up between the two women. Rousey uses her strikes to back Charlotte up to the ropes.

Charlotte cheap shots Rousey behind the referee’s back and gained momentum in the match. Rousey quickly countered Charlotte and re-grouped in the corner. Charlotte attempted a Figure Four but Rousey countered and attempted to lock in an armbar. Charlotte quickly got out of that.

Rousey sends Charlotte to the apron and the two brawl on the apron. Charlotte drives Rousey down onto the apron and takes control of the match. Charlotte sends Rousey into the ring post and sends her back into the ring. She remains on the offensive, keeping Rousey grounded.

Rousey tries to get back into the match, but Charlotte counters and knocks Rousey out with a punch to the head. Charlotte remains on the attack, but Rousey counters and begins taking the fight to Charlotte. She takes down Charlotte with arm drags but Charlotte spears Rousey while she’s not paying attention.

Charlotte goes for the pin, but Rousey is able to kick out. Rousey quickly goes back on the offensive. Charlotte starts hitting Rousey with chops, but Rousey is able to counter into a takeover. Charlotte makes her way to the top, and Ronda meets her up there.

Charlotte is able to knock Ronda back onto the mat, but Rousey jumps up and hits an arm drag off the top. Rousey hits a Piper’s Pit onto Charlotte and calls for the armbar, but Charlotte is able to escape and hits a big boot to Rousey’s face.

Rousey is finally able to lock in the ankle lock on Flair but Flair is able to counter into an ankle lock of her own. Rousey sends Charlotte into the turnbuckle to get back into the match. Rousey locks in the ankle lock on Flair but Flair is able to kick Rousey off of her.

Rousey is able to lock in the armbar but Charlotte reverses into the Figure Eight. Rousey is able to roll outside of the ring to break the hold but both women look exhausted. Rousey hits an arm drag on Charlotte off the apron and onto the floor. She charges at Charlotte, but Charlotte counters into an exploder suplex into the barricade.

Rousey hits a Piper’s Pit on Charlotte in the ring, but Charlotte is just able to get her foot onto the bottom rope. Charlotte hits a Natural Selection out of nowhere but Ronda kicks out at two. Charlotte goes for a figure-eight but Ronda kicks her into the official.

Rousey locks in the armbar on Charlotte and Charlotte taps but there’s no official. Charlotte hits a boot on Rousey and pins her for the victory as Rousey is trying to wake up the referee.

Winner: And Still Smackdown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair

After the match, Charlotte retreats with the Smackdown Women’s Championship and Ronda Rousey looks pissed off in the ring. WWE then airs a vignette hyping up WrestleMania’s return to Hollywood next year. They also aired a video hyping up the main event, the KO Show with Stone Cold.

Kevin Owens Presents the KO Show with Stone Cold Steve Austin

Kevin Owens makes his way out to the ring first. Owens welcomes everyone to the WrestleMania edition of the KO Show. Owens says that if North America were a human body, Texas would be the a**. He says that he was thinking he should apologize and apologizes.

Owens says that he’s sorry for telling the truth about their pathetic state. He says Texas is worse than he remembers. Owens says that he will bring out Stone Cold when he wants to. He says he can’t wait to tell Stone Cold how much he sucks and Stone Cold won’t do anything about it.

Owens says that if he doesn’t show Owens the proper respect, he will hit him with a Stunner and pour a beer on his stupid bald head. Stone Cold’s entrance hits and Austin makes his way down to the ring after saluting the fans. Stone Cold heads back to the backstage area and comes out on his four-wheeler.

Stone Cold enters the ring and kicks the KO Show’s sign down and throws it out of the ring. Owens tells them to cut the music and says that this is his show, not Austin’s. Owens tells Austin to take a seat and Austin stares at him before finally sitting down.

Owens welcomes Austin to the KO show. Austin says Owens looks like a jacka** and calls him a stupid son-of-a-b****. Owens says he doesn’t know what’s so great about Texas. He says it’s too hot, the land isn’t like Canada’s, and the people look stupid.

Owens says he feels for Austin and if he had to grow up in Texas he would have moved to Mexico. He tells Austin that he should be more like him. Owens tells Austin he invited him on the KO Show to have a talk, but he lied and tricked him into coming on the show to have a fight with him.

Owens challenges Austin to a match and says he knows it has been 19 years, but Austin has no reason to not accept his offer. Owens challenges Austin to a no holds barred match right then and there, and Austin accepts and says he had his first match in Dallas and he will have his last match in Dallas.

No-Holds-Barred Match: Kevin Owens vs Stone Cold Steve Austin

The ref makes his way down to the ring and the bell rings, the crowd goes nuts. The match starts off at a slow pace and Owens and Austin get face-to-face. The two start teeing off on each other and Austin backs Owens up into the corner.

Austin unloads punches and kicks on Owens in the corner. He throws Owens into the corner and calls for a beer. He drinks a beer and throws it away while continuing to kick Owens in the corner. Austin throws Owens out of the ring and follows him onto the floor and drinks another beer.

Owens throws Austin into the barricade, but Austin hits him with a clothesline and drops Owens onto the barricade. Austin beats up Owens but Owens is able to send Austin into the ring post. Owens goes on the offensive and hits Austin with a tripod and a piece of the KO show set.

Owens brings a table out from under the ring and sets it up at ringside. Owens goes to throw Austin through the table but Austin reverses it and throws Owens through the table. Austin throws Owens over the guardrail and into the crowd. Austin goes for a suplex on the concrete, but Owens counters and hits Austin with a suplex of his own on the concrete.

Owens and Austin continue to brawl in the crowd, but Owens is able to hit Austin with a knee causing him to fall. Owens throws Austin over the barricade but Austin catches him and throws him onto the announce table. Austin drinks more beers and begins unloading his punches on Owens on the announce table and drinks more.

Austin throws Owens back into the ring, but Owens rolls out on the opposite side. Owens hops on Austin’s four-wheeler and tries to leave, but Austin catches him and hops on the four-wheeler with him. Austin drives with Owens to the top of the entrance ramp.

The two begin brawling on the WrestleMania stage and Austin hits Owens with two suplexes on the stage. Austin brings Owens back down to the ring and throws him back into the ring, before drinking some more. Owens hits Austin with a Stunner out of nowhere and pins him for a two-count.

Owens grabs a chair and goes to hit Austin, but Austin ducks, and the chair ricochets and hits Owens in the face. Austin stuns him and covers him for the three-count.

Winner: Stone Cold

After the match, Stone Cold salutes the fans and drinks some more beers. Owens stands up again and Austin hits him with a Stunner again. Owens is escorted out by two police officers of the stadium.

Austin grabs the mic and says it’s good to be back and that’s the bottom line because Stone Cold said so. Austin invites Byron Saxton into the ring and shares a beer with him before giving him the Stunner. The show ends with Austin celebrating in the ring with his brother.
