WWE Hall of Famer, Sunny allegedly caused fatal car crash
TMZ reported on Wednesday that WWE Hall of Famer, Tammy Lynn Sytch, known as Sunny, allegedly caused a car crash in March that led to the death of a 75-year-old man. According to the Ormond Beach Police Department, the allegations include the suspicion that Sytch was under the influence of alcohol.
According to the report that TMZ obtained, the accident occurred on Friday, March 25 at approximately 8:28 PM on U.S. Highway 1 in Volusia County in Florida. TMZ is reporting that Sytch was driving a 2012 Mercedes and crashed into the back of a Kia Sorento that was stopped at a stoplight. That crash caused the Kia to crash into a GMC Yukon which was also stopped at the light. TMZ also reports that witnesses said Sytch was “driving at a high rate of speed.”
The driver of the Kia was transported to a hospital where he was announced as dead from injuries. Sytch did not have any known injuries.
According to TMZ, the Ormond Beach Police Department is investigating the matter and toxicology reports could lead to charges against Sytch.
This is not Stych’s first time in trouble with the law. In fact, she has been arrested multiple times in her post-WWE career. This includes being arrested five times in four weeks for charges including disorderly conduct, burglary, and violating a protective order. She violated another protective order in 2013 and served 114 days in jail.
Sytch has had additional run-ins with the law, resulting in multiple arrests from 2015 through January of 2022.
Under the name “Sunny,” Sytch first started her career in wrestling back in 1993. She rose to prominence in southern territories, before joining the WWE in 1995. She was placed alongside many different members of the WWE roster as a valet, including Ron Simmons, The Godwinns, and The Smoking Guns. She was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
