AEW Dynamite is live from Pittsburgh.

CM Punk vs. Dustin Rhodes

The match started with a handshake and a lockup. Rhodes gained wrist control and hit Punk with a shoulder tackle. Punk followed with a hip toss. The opponents took a breather and took in the dueling chants. Rhodes locked his legs around Punk’s head. Punk kept Rhodes down on the mat for a couple of minutes while working his arm.

Rhodes dug his elbow into Punk’s shoulder blade. The two ran the ropes and Rhodes slid under the bottom rope and landed on the ramp. Punk put Rhodes back into the ring so he could work the injured knee.

During picture-in-picture, Rhodes finally got in some offense. Punk quickly regained control and put Rhodes on his back. After the break, Rhodes pushed Punk out of the ring and then pushed him into the turnbuckle. He grabbed Punk’s arm over the rope and made him fall. Rhodes and Punk exchanged chops and kicks. Rhodes clotheslined Punk. In the corner, Rhodes reigned down right hands. Afterward, Rhodes’ knee gave out.

Rhodes hit a Code Red. Rhodes hit Punk with an uppercut and went for the Cross Rhodes, but Punk kicked him. Punk put Rhodes in the Figure Four. Rhodes sat up in the leg lock and they began hitting each other. They took turns turning the other over to put pressure on the knees, but Punk was able to get to the ropes.

Punk went for the elbow drop and Rhodes reversed. Rhodes set up for a Cross Rhodes, but Punk reversed out. Rhodes hit him in a piledriver, but Punk kicked out. Rhodes hit him punches, but Punk kicked him in the head. Punk lifted him up for the GTS, but dropped him. Punk dropped down onto Rhodes to pin him.

After the match, Hangman Page came out to have a staredown with Punk, who has been strongly hinting that he wants his title.

WARDLOW was placed in handcuffs upon his arrival.

Blackpool Combat Club w. William Regal vs. Dante Martin, Brock Anderson, & Lee Moriarity w/ Arn Anderson

The match started with BCC going after their opponents. Yuta quickly stretched out Martin. Martin did a leapfrog and hit an enziguri. Danielson had Martin in a headlock and then chopped him in the corner. He then hit him with a running boot. Martin kicked Danielson and then dropkicked Danielson and Mox. Anderson tagged in and he punched Mox in the corner. Mox hit him with a Half and Half.

During picture in picture, Danielson jumped on Anderson and knocked him off the apron. Yuta pulled him up by his head and put him in the ring and immediately placed him in a rear-naked choke. Yuta followed up with kicks and tagged Moxley in. Moxley continued the assault on Anderson. Yuta is tagged back in as Anderson is kept isolated. Danielson is tagged in and started kicking him in the chest. Mox tagged back in just before the break ended.

Mox flipped off Johnson. Anderson hit Mox with a spinebuster. Moriarty is tagged in and cleaned house. Moriarty and Danielson exchange forearms and uppercuts. Moriarty had Danielson locked in a hold, but Danielson suplexed him. Martin tagged in against Mox. Martin jumped off the rope on to Moxley, Martin went for nose dive, but Mox caught him, Moriarity tried to break up a Bulldog Choke. All six men in the ring. Mox hit Martin with the Paradigm Shift.

Blackpool Combat Club wins via pinfall

Undisputed Elite issued open challenge for a 10-man match next week.

Tony Khan’s announcement

Tony Khan has once again been teasing another huge announcement. AEW will be hosting a joint show with NJPW on June 26th at the United Center in Chicago (the same place where CM Punk made his AEW debut). Khan brought out NJPW president Obari. Adam Cole made the announcement of the show, Forbidden Door. He introduced “Switchblade” Jay White, who then said it was “all about Undisputed Elite and Bullet Club.”

WARDLOW vs. Butcher

MJF came out after Butcher and told the crowd that WARDLOW wasn’t allowed to have entrance music. He came down to the ring in handcuffs.

After the bell rang, WARDLOW and Butcher stood on opposite sides of the ring, but then went for each other at the same time. The two exchanged blows. Butcher shoved WARDLOW into the corner while biting his forehead.

WARDLOW shoulder tackled Butcher out of the ring. Butcher got chairs out from under the ring. WARDLOW jumped down and Butcher tossed him back and forth between the ring and barricade. Butcher slammed his face into the ring post, but WARDLOW did the same to him. Butcher drove WARDLOW spine first into the ring post. Butcher power bombed WARDLOW. WARDLOW hit a Powerbomb Symphony for the win.

WARDLOW was handcuffed again and escorted from the ring.

Kingston challenged Garcia with no Jericho Appreciation Society or Proud ‘n Powerful on Rampage.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Jungle Boy

O’Reilly and Jungle Boy exchanged waist locks. They followed with wrist locks. O’Reilly with a cross-arm breaker, but Jungle Boy grabbed the rope. O’Reilly kicked Jungle Boy in the corner. High roundhouse kicks from Jungle Boy and they exchanged strikes. Hammerlock by O’Reilly. O’Reilly kept control with overhand wrist lock. Jungle Boy put his opponent in an arm breaker. High knee and butterfly by O’Reilly.

During picture-in-picture, O’Reilly maintained control with various holds. In the corner, Jungle Boy kicked O’Reilly away. O’Reilly once again took control of his opponent. After the break, Jungle Boy kicked out of a hold and hit him with elbow strikes. Jungle Boy took O’Reilly off his feet. Jungle Boy dumped O’Reilly over the top and followed with a tope suicida. Jungle Boy hit O’Reilly with a lariat.

In the ring, O’Reilly performed a dragon screw inside the ropes. Jungle Boy hit a DDT off the bottom rope into front chancery. O’Reilly got up to his feet, but Jungle Boy remained wrapped around him. O’Reilly with an exploder, but Jungle Boy followed up with a clothesline. Jungle Boy suplexed O’Reilly into the turnbuckle. On the top turnbuckle, O’Reilly had Jungle Boy in a wrist lock. O’Reilly eye gouged by Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy hit right hands to the head of O’Reilly, who was still hanging from top turnbuckle.

Jungle Boy set up for the Snare Trap, but he then goes for a knee to head. O’Reilly dropped down and hit Jungle Boy with a leg sweep. O’Reilly put him in an ankle lock. Jungle Boy went for the Snare Trap again and got it locked it in this time, but O’Reilly crawled to rope. Jungle Boy went to the top rope, but O’Reilly kicked his leg out. O’Reilly superplexed Jungle Boy. O’Reilly hit a modified brainbuster and then dropped a knee from the top rope for the pin to advance to the Owen Hart Cup.

MJF revealed that Jake Roberts is working for him. Archer said he didn’t need MJF’s money.

HOOK vs. Anthony Henry

HOOK finally made his Dynamite debut. Henry immediately goes after HOOK, but HOOK put him into ankle lock. In the corner, HOOK drove his knees into Henry. HOOK with lariat to the back of Henry’s neck. HOOK strikes Henry with forearms while “Smart” Mark Sterling and Tony Nese look on.

Danhausen tried to curse him again. HOOK continued with forearms before locking in the REDRUM.

After the match, Danhausen challenged HOOK to a match.

Scorpio Sky asked Kazarian to wait on challenging for the TNT Championship.

Britt Baker w/Najee Harris and Pat Freiermuth vs. Danielle Kamela

This is Baker’s first match and televised appearance since losing the Women’s Championship. Kamela pushed Baker in the back and took her down. Baker put her in a wrist lock and took her down. Baker suplexed Kamela.

During picture-in-picture, Baker put Kamela in the corner. Kamela pulled Baker’s leg out from under her. She put Baker in the corner and drove her into the turnbuckle. Kamela hit and kicked Baker and then hit a crossbody. Kamela nearly pinned the former champ. Baker once again in the corner where Kamela kicked her in the gut. Kamela hit Baker repeatedly in the back and put her in a headlock. Kamela running kick to Baker.

After the break, Kamela tried to smother Baker with a Terrible Towel. Baker took Kamela down and pounded her. Baker followed with an elbow strike and forearms. Baker with a slingblade. Baker with a thrust kick and a neck breaker. Baker followed with a curb stomp. Baker had a football glove to put Baker in the Lockjaw.

Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo w/Jose the Assistant

Allin challenged El Idolo to a Casket Match. This is the second coffin match in AEW history.

Blade jumped up on the apron to distract Allin. Allin hit Andrade with his skateboard. Marq Queen attacked Allin in the ring. It’s all legal in a Coffin Match. Allin is tossed out of the ring. Allin hit Blade with the skateboard. Allin ran at El Idolo with a skateboard, but Andrade caught him and threw him into the barricade.

A fan wearing a Sting mask stood up behind Quen and removed his mask to reveal…Sting! Sting beat up both Quen and Blade through the crowd. Andrade dragged Allin through the crowd. Allin shoved Andrade into the steps. Allin fought off the Blade while Quen hit Sting in the back with a chair. Sting pushed Quen down onto Blade, Allin, and Andrade, and then dove onto all of them.

During the break, Sting pushed Quen through the curtain. Allin and El Idolo continued fighting throughout the crowd and eventually made it to the ring. El Idolo tossed Allin onto the apron. He threw Allin into the ring before setting a chair up between turnbuckles. Allin and El Idolo exchanged blows. El Idolo kicked Allin in the gut and then slung him into the chair. El Idolo grabbed another chair and pushed it up against Allin.

After the break, El Idolo ran towards Allin, but Allin threw the chair into El Idolo’s legs and then dropped him. Allin went for the Coffin Drop, but was caught. El Idolo hit a German Suplex on the outside. El Idolo took Allin to the ramp and slapped his face before pushing him into the coffin. Allin used his arm to keep El Idolo from closing it. The lid was covered in thumbtacks.

Andrade suplexed Allin onto the ramp. He then attempted to pick him up again. El Idolo threw Allin over his head onto a grate. El Idolo drug Allin down the ramp by his arm. El Idolo threw him into the steps and tossed him on the apron. El Idolo began to destroy the coffin.

El Idolo had Allin on his shoulder on the apron. Allin jumped into the ring. Allin hit a tope suicida into the coffin. He hit Idolo with the lid and Jose the Assistant came back to save Andrade. Allin did a back body drop onto Jose, making him land on the open coffin lid. He then shoved El Idolo down and closed the coffin lid by laying on it.

Next. Three angles that would improve Dynamite and Rampage. dark

Sting came down afterward to celebrate. The Hardys came out and did the “Delete” motion.

Darby Allin wins by putting El Idolo in the coffin and closing the lid.
