Darius Martin of Top Flight has suffered another setback. Fightful Select reported on Friday that the older brother of Dante Martin is sidelined from action.

According to the report, Martin has suffered from a leg injury that will keep him out for a “lengthy period.” This comes after missing a year of action due to a previously torn ACL. Darius made a surprise return on AEW Dynamite as a part of the AEW World Tag Team Title Number One Contendership Casino Tag Team Royale. He was the last member of the team and the last man eliminated to give the Young Bucks the victory heading into AEW Revolution.

Since his return, he was wrestled in only 11 matches before being pushed out of action again. During this time Top Flight picked up wins both in and out of AEW over teams like The Factory, Arez and Rey Horus, The Wingmen and Ariya Daivari, and Invictus Khash.

Dante Martin returned to singles action on April 16 at the PPW Super Show III and recently completed alongside Brock Anderson and Lee Moriarty in a losing effort to the Blackpool Combat Club.

Top Flight was seen as two top prospects, not only as tag team performers but also as potential individual stars. At 22 and 21 years of age, both men have several of the attributes deemed necessary in the injury and fan backing. Darius’s initial injury led to Dante seeing a singles push that involved Lio Rush and matches with Malakai Black.

AEW has yet to announce the injury nor is there a specific timetable for his return.

The Daily DDT team wishes Darius Martin a speedy recovery.
