Professional wrestling has a true issue in ridding itself of bad actors. There’s an extensive list of names across the industry that continue to pop up with new opportunities after multiple instances of ill behavior. Too many times, these individuals do not show remorse for their actions, instead, leaning on excuses, threats, or avoidance to escape accountability. Tessa Blanchard is such an individual and it’s time for professional wrestling to leave her by the wayside.

Fightful Select reported news on Wednesday that Blanchard has had a falling out with WOW. This comes as the company was looking to relaunch, with Blanchard as the face of the company – involved in many ways both in front of the camera and backstage. Sadly, the report points toward more issues with Blanchard’s behavior, showing a pattern aligned with previous situations.

One of Fightful’s sources mentioned an incident with Blanchard and Samantha Sage that saw an end to acting classes when Blanchard cut a promo on Sage that caused some other trainees to speak up. Their sources also mentioned that Blanchard is no longer involved with training talent.

This opportunity with WOW was meant to welcome Blanchard back into professional wrestling after being forced out in 2020. It was then she faced multiple allegations of bullying, including a specifically vile situation in which Allysin Kay claimed she witnessed Blanchard spit on La Rosa Negra and call her the N-word.

Blanchard’s reaction was to deny the accusations, claim she was taking “control of her narrative,” and thank God for the people that support her. That’s a typical step by those that do not seek to take accountability for their mistakes. As the reports started this time around, Blanchard once again deactivated her social media.

Blanchard should not get another opportunity in professional wrestling. At least not until she acknowledges the allegations against her, apologizes to those she’s impacted, and shows an ability to be better. Fans consistently show their disgust when promotions they want to support bring in individuals who show they cannot be trusted within the spotlight. Seeing them get opportunity after opportunity, without any accountability is a slap in the face to the people they’ve harmed along the way.

Blanchard is a talented performer. When she’s at the top of her game, she is one of the best wrestlers in the industry. However, that doesn’t mean she gets unlimited lives when she’s shown the inability to treat others with respect and dignity. At only 26-years of age, Blanchard is young but she’s running out of time to be able to blame it on her youth.

Just like video games of the past, Tessa Blanchard has seen the “Continue” screen one too many times. Her latest situation with WOW shows that she is not willing to change her behavior when it comes to her colleagues in professional wrestling. It’s time the industry leaves her on the sideline until she can show and prove that she’s ready to be a better person that deserves the opportunity to display her talent to the world.
