WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 Predictions: Becky Lynch Will Unfortunately Replace Asuka

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins [HIAC Match]

Cody Rhodes is scheduled to battle Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell in what should be the end to their trilogy. He will defeat Seth Rollins inside a structure that Rollins knows very well. Hopefully, this match won’t end in a disqualification like it did in 2019. WWE does not need to stretch out this feud to Hell in a Cell, but it is very likely that Rollins will find some way to get another rematch in order to push Rhodes’ buttons. Nonetheless, Rhodes cannot lose on his road to winning the MITB Briefcase and battling Roman Reigns for the world title at SummerSlam.

Defeating a former MITB Winner three times before WWE MITB 2022 in July is a neat foreshadowing for Rhodes. It has been rumored that the MITB winner will earn a guaranteed world title opportunity at WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes would be the perfect choice for a Mania match against Roman Reigns, especially since he has been poised as the top guy and one of the most featured commodities on Raw. However, this rumor is still peculiar because it takes away the unpredictability factor of the MITB Briefcase and destroys the crux of the Royal Rumble.

If Cody Rhodes wins the MITB Briefcase to earn a guaranteed title shot against Reigns at Mania, what would the Rumble winner get since Reigns has both belts? If this unprecedented concept is actually true, Reigns would have to lose or relinquish one of the belts so that the Rumble winner gets a shot at the other title at Mania. Unfortunately, that would kill the dreams of potentially merging the divisions. Nonetheless, this HIAC match between Rhodes and Rollins will have plenty of interesting implications on the road to SummerSlam and should be a fun but bumpy ride.
