While scrolling through social media, there were rumors and speculations about what will become of Sasha Banks and Naomi after the events that transpired Monday. The curiosity of how WWE would handle it was in the back of most fans’ minds.

For some reason, WWE was holding it to the chest to the point that even Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful could only tell people to tune in to SmackDown. The wait was not worth it and it proved WWE has no clue what they are doing with this situation.

WWE flopped their response to Sasha Banks and Naomi.

There was a lot of curiosity to see how WWE would handle the situation. Most of us kept track on social media to see when the segment would come. It was around 9:30 p.m. and it was time for us to see what WWE had in store for Sasha and Naomi after everything that happened.

Michael Cole gave a play-by-play of what happened Monday, thus adding to the worst breaking of the fourth wall in sports-entertainment history. He revealed that Sasha and Naomi are suspended indefinitely and there will be a tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

There are a few things wrong with it besides the fact it looked and sounded like Cole had the words fed to him via his headset as he tried to keep up with it all. Why in the world would the biggest organization make such a decision to take a messy route?

First off, WWE should be grateful that Naomi and Sasha didn’t walk off with the belts and appear in another promotion as they dump the belts. Sasha and Naomi dropped the belts off and walked out with no malicious motive in mind.

The other problem: It seems as though WWE is trying to incorporate it into their story. It wouldn’t be the first time WWE incorporated real-life backstage problems into Raw and SmackDown. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s not like WWE hasn’t been in this situation before, and they even had worse situations in the past, and they still didn’t react the way they are doing with Sasha and Naomi. Needless to say, WWE has backed themselves into a tricky dilemma that could backfire on them even more.

All of us know the phase of WWE where they ignore the stars after they realize the star isn’t coming back, going to be released, or the storyline isn’t working. It’s only a matter of time before management will try to act like none of this happened and it will be clear that they could have handled it differently.

With all of that in mind, that message could have been sent in a different way and saved people time from getting two minutes they will never get back again. The most agitating part is that they still missed the point of past movements that brought us to this point.

The message WWE sent with their antics makes us feel like they aren’t taking it seriously. Anytime something is brought on television with a major company, it’s clear that it’s so low on the priority list that they decided to incorporate it in their program as opposed to looking at the issues to improve the product.

The excitement for the tournament is very low and overshadowed by this response. The patience with the women’s tag team division was already low, but this will make the situation worse. The speculation will continue and social media will surely continue to buzz with the two superstars trending at certain points during shows and through the week.

It’s a setup to blur the line and make life difficult either for Sasha and Naomi or for WWE’s public relations team. Either way, WWE doing it in such a public way has only added gasoline to the already raging fire within the WWE universe.

No one knows what lies ahead for Sasha and Naomi, but one thing is for sure, WWE fans have been making their voices heard and hoping for positive results. Fans have a powerful voice and hopefully, WWE will give the antics a rest or the voices of the fans will only grow louder from here.
