If CM Punk isn’t ready, Daniel Garcia should face Jon Moxley at All Out
AEW All Out is less than a month away and the card is yet to take shape. Other than the finals to the Trios title tournament, nothing has been announced for the card. Yet, there’s an expectation that Jon Moxley will be on the card with his interim AEW World Championship in tow. If CM Punk is unable to compete as he recovers from injury, Daniel Garcia should be the individual who gets a slot in a big-time title match.
The future of the AEW title picture is a bit murky as Punk recovers from his foot injury. No word has come on whether he’s certain to take part on the September 4 card. Moxley has filled in perfectly as the champion, reminding fans and viewers that he could be considered the “heart and soul” of All Elite Wrestling. He’s one that everyone can count on for big matches and get every invested in a match, even another with Chris Jericho.
This is what makes a potential match against Garcia so intriguing. At 23 years old, Garcia may be the future of all professional wrestling. He’s shown an ability in the ring that is hard to emulate, putting on some of the best matches seen across all promotions. He’s tied into a featured angle as the Jericho Appreciation Society battles Blackpool Combat Club. Many are hoping that the feud is done, as it feels like it’s run its course. But this could be the final blowoff match between the two groups.
Garcia is coming off a big win over Bryan Danielson back at the end of July. Imagine the situation if Jericho falls to Moxley and Garcia steps up to announce that he’s the man to take the title. This would create a space where fans get a highly anticipated match for the PPV and creates the stage for Garcia to split from Jericho, creating another big babyface for AEW. Give Moxley and Garcia 15 to 20 minutes to perform at the PPV and this would easily be one of the top matches of the year throughout professional wrestling.
CM Punk may not be ready to go when All Out comes around, but AEW will still need a big title match for the show. The company should look no further than Daniel Garcia who would make the perfect opponent for Jon Moxley with long-term ramifications for all involved.
