On Friday’s episode of Rampage: Quake by the Lake, fans finally got to see  Sonny Kiss on TV for the first time since October of 2020. Kiss faced off against Parker Boudreaux. Boudreaux has been featured on AEW Dark as a member of the recently formed TrustBusters (alongside Ari Daivari and Slim J).

Fans have been buzzing about Kiss having a TV match since it was announced during this week’s Dynamite. We probably realized something was amiss when Kiss didn’t get a televised entrance, but her opponent did. The fans in attendance were really happy to see her and she received a great reception. It was short-lived, unfortunately, as Boudreaux quickly squashed Kiss.

Wrestling Twitter was very mad about this fact. Fans have been clamoring for Kiss to have TV ever since she was squashed by Kenny Omega in 2020. Kiss was featured a few times during Pride month in a very well-received ad. This ad led to fans criticizing AEW for only using Kiss on TV for Pride month.

Before we get to the main event, let’s back up to this week’s episode of DarkFor the last two years, Kiss has been exclusive to AEW’s YouTube programming. She was featured in a match with Zack Clayton (yes, the one who challenged HOOK for the FTW Championship tonight) and Xavier Walker. She also faced none other than the TrustBusters. Even with TrustBusters picking up another win, they seemed interested in Kiss. Daivari spoke to her and Kiss was clearly curious about whatever was said.

Back to the main event of Rampage. The main event saw Daivari beat Orange Cassidy. After the match, Boudreaux attacked Cassidy and Best Friends. Kiss came running from the back and signaled to Cassidy that she was there to help him. Instead, she kicked him in the yam bags, as Taz would say.

After the show, Kiss explained why she aligned with TrustBusters by saying she chose “winners”. She’s also been using #InBustWeTrust and changed her Twitter bio.

Many fans have been calling for Kiss to join Jade Cargill and the Baddies. Putting TrustBusters and Kiss together instead is an interesting choice. Kiss is well loved, but seeing her as a heel is probably not what the fans expected. It is something fresh for Kiss and allows her to change up her character.

Next. Kenny Omega's return will shake AEW's foundation. dark

TrustBusters have only been together for a very short time, but they’re already getting pushed heavily. They’ve picked up wins on Dark and now Rampage. Daivari and Slim J were victorious on the Death Before Dishonor pre-show, Zero Hour. TrustBusters are also in the Trios tournament. It remains to be seen which combination will actually compete. Another sign of big things planned for TrustBusters: Boudreaux got the All Elite graphic after Rampage aired.

This move could potentially be really big for Kiss. She should be on TV more regularly (hopefully in matches and not just eye candy). It’s the biggest thing AEW has done with Kiss thus far. More Sonny Kiss on TV is always a good thing because she is a star. Don’t let us down, AEW.
