There was a lot of wrestling action to take in last week. Not only did AEW and WWE feature their weekly content, but two big events with WWE Extreme Rules and AEW Battle of the Belts IV went down on Friday and Saturday. Coming out of those shows, these are three stories to watch for heading into the week of October 10.
Bray Wyatt is Back!
Bray Wyatt’s return is going to be one of the most talked about moments throughout professional wrestling this year. WWE delivered at the end of Extreme Rules and the views on the video clips hours and days later prove that this was exactly what fans wanted to see. Now, the question turns to what is Wyatt going to do now that he has returned.
There are rumors swirling of a potential stable in the works. WWE performers like Liv Morgan and Seth Rollins have both blacked out their social media accounts, leading many to think this has something to do with Wyatt. Media outlets are also reporting on a potential return for Bo Dallas, Wyatt’s younger brother. Where this is headed is anyone’s guess but WWE certainly has the attention of fans, performers, and everyone in between.
What’s next for Bianca Belair?
Bianca Belair picked up a big win over Bayley at Extreme Rules, retaining in the ladder match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. It was an interesting booking decision, seeing how well Belair has been protected this year and it was believed Bayley’s return made her the “hot hand” for the division at this time. Having one woman defeat basically, the main threat in the women’s division of Damage Control by herself has some scratching their heads, wondering what is next for that group and the division.
Regardless of the steps that are made, Belair is one of the biggest stars on the WWE roster and one of the few well-built attractions in the WWE. Fans will usually cheer whatever she engages in and the October 10 edition of WWE Raw should kick off a new angle with the champion.
Jon Moxley is the ACE of AEW
News broke over the weekend that Jon Moxley signed a five-year extension with AEW. This was a big move for the company to lock in the most important individual in the promotion to a long-term deal. Plus, multiple outlets reported that Moxley’s wife, Renee Paquette is headed to the organization as well. This will give the promotion another well-known and well-respected name in the industry that can do a lot of different things to help elevate the brand. Moxley’s importance to AEW should not be questioned and it will be interesting to watch how AEW continues to feature him while using his value to elevate others throughout the company.
