All Elite Wrestling struggles with a roster that may be too big

In a couple of months, All Elite Wrestling will celebrate the four-year anniversary of the company’s inception. AEW started when they signed wrestlers like the Elite, MJF, Pac, Britt Baker, and Chris Jericho. Before their first episode of Dynamite, they signed more wrestlers like Shawn Spears, Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Dustin Rhodes, Jungle Boy, and Jon Moxley.

As the years goes by, AEW signed more wrestlers like Sting, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Keith Lee, Kyle O’Reilly, Andrade, Malakai Black, Swerve Strickland, Miro, Samoa Joe, FTR, and others. The point of all of this is that AEW has a big roster, maybe too big. And that’s a problem. AEW only has three hours of tv time every week and you can’t have everyone on TV due to having a big roster.

The AEW roster is too big

AEW currently has over 142 wrestlers under contract plus the wrestlers who are signed with Ring of Honor. They only have three hours of tv every week. AEW Dynamite is two hours long while Rampage is one hour long. That’s not enough TV time for a roster with 142 wrestlers.

They do have AEW Dark and Dark Elevation on YouTube. And that gives a lot of wrestlers who don’t get TV time a chance to wrestle. But Dark and Dark Elevation do not have the same exposure that a Dynamite or Rampage have.

AEW has a stacked roster. The problem is that it might be too stacked. There are so many great wrestlers in this company that struggle to get much TV time like Miro, Shawn Spears, Sonny Kiss, Kazarian, Brain Pillman Jr., and more.

Fortunately for AEW, this is a problem that can be fixed. One way to fix this is to send some of the wrestlers that Tony Khan does not want to use in AEW to ROH once they start their show. One concern is that we do not when ROH will have a TV show.

Another idea that they should handle the large roster is to rotate wrestlers every week. Like on one-week showcase talents like Chris Jericho, FTR, and Bryan Danielson. And the next week have Jon Moxley, Hangman Page, The Acclaimed, Britt Baker, and Darby Allin.

We don’t need the same wrestlers like Jericho on TV every week. Khan needs to show different wrestlers each week. If he needs to have someone like Jericho two weeks in a row for a storyline, then do a backstage segment or do a segment at his house.

That way the fans won’t get tired of seeing the same faces every single week as well as seeing new faces or wrestlers that are not on TV a lot. This also gives Dynamite and Rampage a fresh feel and it won’t feel stale.

Next. PAC deserves to be recognized as one of the best in the business. dark

The roster is too big in All Elite Wrestling. And that’s a problem because they have a lot of talented wrestlers that are not TV regularly. But there is a way to fix this without firing everybody besides sending some talents to ROH whenever they have a show. Rotate talent every week so everyone on the roster has a fair opportunity to be on TV.
