AEW provides an update on “Hangman” Adam Page after scary moment versus Jon Moxley
The professional wrestling world is a dangerous space and injuries happen often. The community rallied around “Hangman” Adam Page as he suffered a severe injury during the October 18 edition of AEW Dynamite in the main event against Jon Moxley. The response of prayers and well wishes was quick across the industry from his colleagues and peers throughout other promotions. AEW provided an update on Page’s status in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
“Hangman Adam Page was taken tonight by medical personnel to a Cincinnati trauma center and diagnosed with a concussion. He was discharged, but will remain in AEW’s concussion protocol,” AEW stated in a social media post. “AEW and Hangman Page are grateful for the exemplary response and care of staff and local medical personnel and are appreciative of the love and support of fans everywhere.”
During the match with Moxley, Page took a clothesline and spun through the air, landing on the side of his head and face. He remained down and the medical personnel ringside quickly called the match over. The camera crew would cut away from the ring to the commentary booth where everyone was visibly shaken. When the camera cut back to Moxley inside, the AEW World Champion spoke positive words about the situation, hoping for Page’s recovery, but the camera never showed Page who was strapped to a stretcher to safely remove him from the ring. The ending of the match and show was quickly improvised.
Wrestlers from across the industry expressed concerns for Page’s injury on social media.
