Mia Yim would be a welcome addition to the WWE women’s division
The mission to rebuild the WWE women’s division is underway. Fightful Select reported on Friday that there is interest in bringing Mia Yim back to the promotion. Along with names like Emma, Sarah Logan, and Dakota Kai, if Yim returns, she will be a key addition that will add much-needed depth to this group.
Yim was one of many names released by the WWE during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Her time with the company came to an end back in November of 2021. During that time, she was moved up to the main roster but wasn’t utilized in any matches for nearly a year before her release.
She had a much stronger presence in NXT where she competed for the NXT Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler while having matches against other standouts like Charlotte Flair, IYO Sky, Candice LeRae, and many others.
From May through October, Yim performed for IMPACT Wrestling where she was an important part of that women’s division. She did not win the IMPACT Knockouts Title but remained in the title hunt with big matches against Deonna Purrazzo, Chelsea Green, Mickie James, and Jordynne Grace.
It was clear that the women’s division was greatly impacted by the releases that were deemed “budget cuts” of the last three years. As Triple H attempts to put more focus on the women’s division on the main roster, there’s a need for more individuals that can put on the type of matches fans want to see. Yim is a step in the right direction as she’s a talented performer that brings 13 years of experience into the ring. She can be utilized to help build out a mid-card for the women’s division, strengthen the tag team division, and even compete against the biggest stars on either SmackDown or Monday Night Raw.
There is a lot of work needed within the women’s division on both main roster shows. Adding Mia Yim to the mix is a step in the right direction and benefits the entire roster.
