Kota Ibushi is a top name that many expect AEW to make a play for and these are three dream matches that fans would want to see.

Kota Ibushi is a free agent. Fans of professional wrestling recognize him as one of the best talents in the industry and now that he’s no longer a part of New Japan Pro Wrestling, he’s one of the biggest free agents available. Fans expect him to show up in All Elite Wrestling due to his ties to many of the performers on that roster. If that is the case, there are several dream matches that jump off the page. These are three that must happen if Ibushi does truly become “All Elite.”

PAC

PAC is one of the top in-ring workers on the AEW roster. Every time he is in the spotlight, he delivers one of the best matches of the show. Everything about his intensity feels palpable and real with every maneuver he uses. That’s the same level of intensity that would be an attractive foil for Ibushi, in what would be a “must-see” match for any fan of professional wrestling. PAC and Ibushi have never shared a ring together and the anticipation around this first-time showcase would be one of the biggest matches the company could put together.

Darby Allin

Darby Allin is coming off his second run as AEW TNT Champion. In just a few weeks, he elevated that title back to a position of importance after multiple title reigns by others that were subpar at best. He’s just below the title level in AEW and a consummate fan favorite. That’s the perfect level of introduction if Ibushi was to join AEW. He and Allin would have a great match on any AEW PPV or special event. It would be something to see these two men try to “out bump” one another, but the result will be enjoyed by all those that catch the action.

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi have a storied history. It would be interesting to see how AEW tells that story in a way that engages today’s viewers. Which direction would the angle take? Are they allies or enemies? Regardless of that answer, the potential singles match between the two men would blow the doors off the building. It has been four years since Omega and Ibushi faced off against each other in a singles match. In fact, Omega has never picked up a victory against his former tag team partner, dropping three matches to Ibushi in the past. There are so many different ways AEW could go, but it would be quite the showcase to get these two in an AEW ring together.

If AEW finds themselves in the Kota Ibushi business then these are three matches that fans must see for one of the biggest free agents in professional wrestling.
