Jay White would be a massive addition to any promotion
Jay White has to leave Japan, and now eyes watch closely for where he will show up next.
Something big went down in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Jay White faced Hikuleo in a “Loser Leaves Japan” match, and White was defeated. That sets the stage for the rising swell of speculation around what is next for White. As rumors of interest from other promotions, to this simply being White heading to NJPW Strong in the United States, fans should pay close attention to the steps he takes next because White is one of the best performers in the world that few seem to recognize.
Hardcore fans of professional wrestling recognize White’s greatness. At 30 years old, he’s put together a string of accolades that deserves recognition. He’s a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, NEVER Openweight Champion, IWGP Intercontinental Champion, IWGP Heavyweight Champion, and IWGP United States Champion. His resume speaks for itself and it’s understandable that the largest promotions in wrestling today, WWE and AEW, would be interested in his services if he truly is a free agent.
His peers in New Japan commented on White’s exit in varying ways, further drumming up ideas of whether this is a work or a shoot situation.
“Believe it or not. I’ll miss you calling me an idiot on a regular basis,” posted Will Ospreay on Twitter. “We are similar and yet so different. Was a pleasure beating the piss outta you and seeing how much you developed into who you are now. I hope my suit fits well wherever you go dickhead.”
Another rival, Hiroshi Tanahashi acknowledged White as he exited the ring with a solemn fist bump. White’s greatness was seen by his peers and that could now be heading to another organization, or to NJPW on another continent.
Jay White would be a boost to any company in pro wrestling
Wherever he lands, Jay White immediately fits in. Imagine if he goes to WWE and joins forces with the Good Brothers. That trio would be a big boost to the Monday Night Raw roster. Think about them going up against Judgement Day, led by Finn Balor. All of that would segue into an angle with a returning AJ Styles. White versus Balor versus Styles in a triple-threat match? Yes, please.
Or what if she shows up in AEW? Jay White versus Adam Cole is right there to make. Especially since Cole was badly injured in the four-way match back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, this would be the perfect angle to build toward a main event-level run for either man. White against others like Jon Moxley, PAC, Kenny Omega, and plenty more? Again, yes, please.
Even in Impact Wrestling, a Jay White versus Chris Bey or Josh Alexander feud would catch the attention of all fans of professional wrestling.
There are a lot of talented performers across professional wrestling. Jay White is one of those individuals that has done excellent work but some still fail to see how big of a deal he really is. If he’s truly leaving NJPW for another company, he would be a big get for either of the two biggest players in the industry.
