WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 Predictions: Roman Reigns Will Acknowledge Sami Zayn
By Mark Justice
WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 is one week from now, and the WWE has made five matches official for this “premium live event”. Obviously, WWE will stick to tradition by hosting men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber matches this year. They also made official the following matchups: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley in a mixed tag match, and potentially Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley if their colossal contract signing on Raw this week makes it official.
The following will provide some match card predictions for what should be one of the most exciting PPVs of the year: WWE Elimination Chamber 2023.
WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 is scheduled to take place on February 18, 2023, live on Peacock. Here are some last-minute match card predictions.
Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley [Mixed Tag Match]
Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley will defeat Edge and Beth Phoenix because Rhea Ripley cannot lose before her title match against Charlotte at Mania and both Balor and Edge need to remain protected for their rumored Hell in a Cell Match at Mania. Henceforth, although Beth Phoenix needs her revenge for that chair attack at the end of the “I Quit” Match between Edge and Balor WWE Extreme Rules in October, she can afford to eat the pinfall here to Ripley. This pinfall over a legend would give Ripley a major boost for her upcoming title match against Charlotte.
Prediction: Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley
Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Damian Priest vs. Montez Ford [U.S. Title Elimination Chamber Match]
Johnny Gargano will win the Elimination Chamber to dethrone Austin Theory and become the new U.S. Champion in what should be the biggest swerve of the night because Austin Theory needs to lose the belt before Mania since he is rumored to battle John Cena at Mania. The title needs to be taken away from that Theory-Cena situation to avoid predictability. Seth Rollins can’t win it either because he’s battling another part-timer in Logan Paul. Ford and Priest are already in tag teams, and it would be too soon for Reed since he just got back to WWE. Gargano is the best option.
Prediction: Johnny Gargano
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley [No Holds Barred Match]
Bobby Lashley will defeat Brock Lesnar because Lashley is on the verge of reuniting with the Hurt Business and needs to get payback for Lesnar screwing him in not one but two U.S. Title matches in the past few months. Although Lashley eliminated Lesnar from the Rumble, Lesnar has still been getting the upper hand on Lashley every time they interact on Raw. Lesnar can possibly get his win back at Mania, but Lashley needs the win here the most for the aforementioned reasons. And when he beats Brock, it will be due to Hurt Business interference.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley
Asuka vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Liv Morgan vs. Nikki Cross vs. Carmella vs. Natalya [Raw Women’s Title #1C Elimination Chamber Match]
Asuka will win the Elimination Chamber to become the number one contender for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania because she is the best option for a WrestleMania-worthy match against Belair, especially since she has repackaged herself into Kana. Nikki Cross and Carmella would objectively not be WrestleMania-worthy matches. It seems that Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan have officially become a tag team, so they aren’t winning. Natalya is in a tag team with Shotzi as well. Asuka is the best option and this victory would solidify her revitalized gimmick.
Prediction: Asuka
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sami Zayn [Undisputed World Championship]
Roman Reigns will defeat Sami Zayn in his hometown of Montreal to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship because he is clearly not losing the title after already teasing the ultimate story with Cody Rhodes at Mania. Many naysayers think Zayn should dethrone Roman, but the bigger picture is Zayn and Owens dethroning Usos for the tag titles at Mania. Another goal here is to get a ton of heel heat on Reigns and Usos before they lose their titles at Mania. That heel heat from the Bloodline will transfer to a huge babyface payoff for both Rhodes and Zayn at Mania.

To get the heel heat on the entire Bloodline, Usos will disobey Heyman’s orders and actually show up for this title reign. Although they are teasing the idea of choosing Zayn over Reigns, they will screw Zayn to set up their tag title match at Mania. Usos will then attack Zayn after the match, and Kevin Owens will run in to make the save and officially reunite with Zayn in their hometown of Montreal, Canada. Henceforth, although Zayn will lose the title match in their hometown, it will be a happy ending due to his reunion with KO as they will challenge Usos for the titles at Mania.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
