WWE WrestleMania 39 Predictions: Roman Reigns Will Bury Cody Rhodes
By Mark Justice
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cody Rhodes [Undisputed WWE Universal Championship]
Cody Rhodes will defeat Roman Reigns via countout and fail to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, just like Dusty Rhodes did. Cody Rhodes was always a Plan B option for Reigns this year. The original plan by WWE was always Roman Reigns (c) vs. The Rock, a match that Reigns would have earned a guaranteed retention. That means WWE was not intending for Reigns to lose his title at WrestleMania 39. Reigns is on the verge of reaching 1000 days as champion, which would be a historic number for WWE to pencil in the record books.
However, WWE will do the right thing and restart the match because they cannot end WrestleMania on a countout. Despite Rhodes being a Plan B, there is no other top babyface option on the roster who can dethrone Reigns at this point in time. Rhodes is the best option, and WrestleMania is the ideal stage to topple The Tribal Chief. Rhodes will defy any interferences from Paul Heyman and the Bloodline to pin Reigns clean with the Cross Rhodes and achieve his lifelong dream of main eventing WrestleMania and becoming the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champ.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes (via countout)
