The February 28 edition of AEW Dynamite features a big match to build the future of the promotion. AR Fox Ortiz, Eddie Kingston, Konosuke Takeshita, Action Andretti, Rey Fenix, Sammy Guevara, and Will Hobbs are set to take part in the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match. With a big opportunity on the way, this is a step for the company to create a new contender for one of the company’s singles championships. It’s an effective way to build fresh faces for the company, and it is time that the women were booked in their own iteration of the match.

All Elite Wrestling has faced some challenges when it comes to the booking of the women’s division. The ladies are still receiving minimal time on television each week, with most of the competitors slotted for AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. That doesn’t mean this roster isn’t bursting with top-tier talent, as there are several names that are proven workers in the ring and characters with the microphone.

Jamie Hayter is unfortunately tied up in the Originals versus Freelancers angle, leaving her without a top challenger heading into AEW Revolution. Jade Cargill is stagnating and also doesn’t have a challenger lined up for AEW Revolution. Giving the women a feature ladder match immediately fixes that problem.

There are several talented women on the AEW roster that could make a ladder match work. Names such as Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb, Emi Sakura, and Mercedes Martinez are the type of veterans that would anchor this match. Mixing them in with younger competitors like Skye Blue and Kiera Hogan and a full six names is that easy to put together for such a big match. AEW could even boost the moment by leveraging its partnerships with other organizations to bring in individuals like Maki Itoh or Deonna Purrazzo.

AEW is continuing to take the slow route with its women’s division. The momentum that was building after AEW Full Gear back in November has all but evaporated, with many vocally pushing the company to do more. Even if a women’s Blood and Guts match is on the horizon, the ladies should also get a Face of the Revolution Ladder Match to help build to a new challenger.
