AEW Revolution put the spotlight firmly on the youthful talent within AEW and came out with a successful show.

Since its inception, All Elite Wrestling has built a roster of youthful talent that is ready to lead the next generation of professional wrestling. Whether it is the “AEW Pillars” or other individuals on the roster, the company is ready to build for the years to come. AEW Revolution was indicative of this point, as the younger competitors in all the matches came out on top.

Across all professional wrestling, there is a boom of young talent poised to set the stage for the future of the industry. It doesn’t matter where allegiances to a particular promotion may fall, all the companies that fans enjoy experiencing have men and women on the roster that will become central figures in the years ahead.

But what AEW is doing is different than what is seen in other organizations. Instead of having young competitors lose in tough matches to their more experienced foes, AEW takes the direct course of putting those talents over their older opponents. There are too many examples in the past of wrestlers being booked as the young, up-and-comer ready to challenge the older name on the roster, only to fall short after a competitive matchup. While this type of booking isn’t new within AEW, it’s still a breath of fresh air to see what went down at the PPV.

Giving all of these young wrestlers the win sets the tone to build momentum for the future. Where will “Hangman” Adam Page go next? Who is MJF’s next challenge? Jamie Hayter continues to establish herself as a dominant champion, what is next for her? All of these questions are what drive fans to tune in week after week, and pushing the younger names as the faces of the company creates confidence that there’s more space for different and interesting angles to take place.

Professional wrestling is a lot like “actual” sports in many ways than fans often recognize. One such point is the need for younger performers to take the spots of older competitors, oftentimes forcibly. While that process usually takes longer in sports entertainment, it’s still a needed step for the longevity of the industry. AEW Revolution is a positive example of that practice and the promotion should be praised for it.
