If you are looking for a wrestler outside of the WWE and AEW to get behind and cheer for, I present to you EJ “The Judge” Nduka.

Following his football career, where he would play defensive end for the Sam Houston State Bearkats, the Toronto Argonauts, the San Antonio Talons, the Allen Wranglers, and the Tri-Cities Fever, EJ would find his way to the squared circle, landing in the WWE Performance Center.

When asked how he knew he was destined for professional wrestling EJ told us “In 2018 I spoke it into existence. I said I was going to be one of the biggest sports entertainers. I wasn’t exactly sure how or why, but God put it in my heart.”

EJ credits his time playing football for preparing him when joining the wrestling world.

“Football prepared me for almost everything in life. It taught me faith, humility, peace, leadership, hard work, and time management.”

Nduka would compete in a couple of matches during NXT live events before he would leave the WWE in May of 2019 and headed to MLW (Major League Wrestling).

During his run in MLW Nduka instantly looked like a star and would eventually join “The Dynasty”  alongside both Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday.

It did not take long for Nduka to find gold as he and Calvin Tankman would pick up the MLW World Tag Team championships before eventually working a program with Hammerstone.

When EJ was featured on an episode of AEW Dark back on January 7th, squaring off with Konosuke Takeshita, wrestling fans were clued to the fact that his MLW contract ended, and he was now a free agent.

“In 2022 I said I was going to shock the world, and I did,” Nduka told me. “I was the fastest rising star in pro wrestling. I went from no one knowing who I am at the performance center to world tag team champion in less than a year. At the beginning of 2023, I was blessed with the opportunity to have an AEW Dark match with one of the best wrestlers in the world.”

The rumor mill exploded when Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the WWE, AEW, as well as companies in both Mexico and Japan, are interested in signing “The Judge” to a contract.
Nduka, who measures 6’8” and 290 lbs, is quite a specimen and would be a fantastic addition, wherever he chooses to land.

One look at him in the ring and you will likely think “ok, this guy can stand toe-to-toe with anyone in the business” as he has that believability factor that helps him stand out in a crowd.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up calling home next and, once signed, what the organization does with his character.

EJ wrapped our conversation up by telling us “This year I plan to reap everyone I’ve sowed for the last two years so get your popcorn ready for The Judge, Chapter 2”.

Wherever he lands one thing is for sure, I’ll be tuning in to watch what he does on a week-to-week basis.

Where do you think he should sign?
