The result of Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns will be the biggest memory coming out of WrestleMania 39.
Besides Cody Rhodes losing to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, this year’s WrestleMania exceeded most expectations from the WWE Universe and those inside the company. It was regarded as one of the most successful WrestleMania’s in history with the highest grossing revenue WWE has ever made. Although WrestleMania was a show for the ages, the fans were left with a lot of controversies due to the main event finish between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Fans were shocked when Cody was defeated by The Tribal Chief. It was unexpected to witness as fans felt the time was right for Roman to finally be dethroned from the head of the table. Although numerous fans believe that Cody has lost momentum as a credible star, his story is not over yet.
Cody losing at WrestleMania is something that draws more of a story for his chase of beating Roman and winning the Undisputed WWE Universal Titles. For Cody to finally win the big one, he must go through difficult hoops to achieve his dreams.
Largely similar to John Cena’s storyline post-WrestleMania 28, Cody must step toe to toe with The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. What Cody needs to do is face WWE’s biggest stars to build himself as a credible contender for Reigns. Last year, Cody made his return, and he made an impact by beating another top star, Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Lesnar is someone who will eventually be added to Cody’s list of those he defeated. Usually, it takes time to build such a huge star. If Cody is booked properly in his program with Lesnar, he can still maintain his momentum. Whether Cody beats Roman at SummerSlam or WrestleMania, it’ll be with the wait.
