WWE Backlash 2023 Predictions: Omos Will Bury Seth Rollins

Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus [Grudge Match]
Trish Stratus will defeat Becky Lynch because she needs to solidify her heel turn with the first victory in their trilogy. It has been reported that Lynch and Stratus will be feuding all the way to SummerSlam, so Lynch can get her two wins back at the Saudi PPV as well as SummerSlam to avenge Stratus for her heinous attack put an end to the feud for good. There is not really much to gain from this storyline other than being an attraction match or dream match for pro wrestling fans who want to see different generations collide on a big stage.
It is also a good excuse to continue Lynch’s momentum as a top star without keeping her in the title picture all the time. Like Charlotte Flair, Lynch needed a break from the title picture, so this should be a solid top program for her this summer.
Prediction: Trish Stratus
Seth Rollins vs. Omos [Grudge Match]
Omos will defeat Seth Rollins because he has a track record of only losing to superstars of his size, such as Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel, Bobby Lashley at Mania 38, and Brock Lesnar at Mania 39. Omos has never lost to a smaller guy in his entire main roster career. It can be argued that the stature and credibility of Rollins is at stake here, but Rollins has had some speculative backstage heat recently. WWE can turn that work into a shoot by posing Omos as s sign of punishment for Rollins’ recent behavior, especially since this match was booked out of nowhere.
Unless Rollins can get Omos down to his knees, he has no way of curb-stomping Omos for the victory here. This match has a foregone conclusion in what could be the beginning of a trilogy between Omos and Rollins, as Rollins can always get his two wins back throughout the summer.
Prediction: Omos
