WWE Backlash 2023 Predictions: Omos Will Bury Seth Rollins

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Zelina Vega [SmackDown Women’s Championship]

Rhea Ripley will defeat Zelina to retain the SmackDown Women’s Title because Ripley just won the belt at WrestleMania from Charlotte Flair and it would be a disservice to her credibility and journey as a top dominant heel and leader of Judgment Day if she lost the title so soon after winning it. Zelina Vega is most likely in this spot because she will have home-court advantage in Puerto Rico as a babyface and can feasibly get the crowd on her side for the close near-falls that shall elicit some false hope of a title change.

Furthermore, this will be a solid rub for Vega who needs the exposure in the main event scene to showcase her exemplary pro wrestling skills inside the squared circle. Not to mention, this was a compelling way to continue the LWO vs. Judgment Day feud on all fronts.

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Iyo Sky [Raw Women’s Championship]

Bianca Belair will defeat Iyo Sky to retain the Raw Women’s Title because Belair will solidify her WrestleMania victory and historic 365+ day reign with a victory here, especially since she teased a future champion vs. champion match with Rhea Ripley on the Raw after WrestleMania. Since Belair is the top babyface in the women’s division, the only time Belair’s title reign should be in jeopardy at this point is a potential MITB cash-in once WWE decides the MITB Winner in July. As for Iyo Sky, she needs to lose since Damage Control is clearly on the verge of breaking up.

Sky will need this loss due to faulty but unintentional mishaps from Bayley and Dakota Kai at ringside. Due to their many losses as a faction, there have been recent signs of dissension and it seems that everything will boil over once Iyo loses this big title match due to their shenanigans.
