WWE MITB 2023: 3 Top Tier Title Opponents For Roman Reigns
By Mark Justice
WWE MITB 2023 is approximately one month away, and WWE has not yet built any blockbuster feuds for this “premium live event.” However, there are already some rumored matchups, like Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa vs. Usos.
This event is also taking place in the UK, which means there will be strong support for UK WWE superstars, such as Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, Finn Balor, and much more. The following will provide three top tier title opponents for Roman Reigns, who is now listed as a featured superstar for WWE MITB 2023.
WWE MITB 2023 is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2023, live on Peacock. Here are three top-tier title opponents for Roman Reigns at WWE MITB 2023.
3.) Edge
Edge still has to accomplish his goal of winning back the world title he never lost 12 years ago. Since he returned in 2020, Edge has not yet had a taste of gold. Although Edge has battled Reigns at WrestleMania 37 and WWE MITB 2021, the rumors of Edge wrapping things up in WWE could tell a compelling story about his journey to the world championship.
Since Edge is on the same brand as Reigns and has momentum from his WrestleMania victory over Finn Balor, the first-ever MITB winner could challenge Reigns at WWE MITB 2023 to a title vs. career match.
2.) Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley was wrongfully written off the WrestleMania 39 card this year. He is an established and diligent former world champion who deserves more spotlight than he receives, especially lately, He would be a solid candidate to battle Reigns for the world title in the main event of WWE MITB 2023.
The last time he battled Reigns was in 2018. He defeated Reigns at the Extreme Rules PPV that year but lost to Reigns on the Raw after in what was a number one contender’s match for the world title. Now that their babyface and heel roles are switched, they can reignite their 2018 rivalry.
1.) Jimmy Uso
If the Bloodline was still intact, it would have been nice to see Bloodline vs. Hurt Business. However, Jimmy Uso basically ended that dream faction war when he finally turned babyface against Roman Reigns and proved that he is the “real” Tribal Chief.
Jey Uso already knows what it’s like to be in the ring toe to toe with Reigns, but Jimmy Uso has not yet fully acknowledged what that feels like. Although Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa vs. Usos is rumored to happen, it would be exciting to see Reigns and Jimmy Uso go at it one on one for the world title to see who the “real” tribal chief is.
