WrestleMania overseas? John Cena wants it, and so do legions of other WWE fans.

This past Saturday at Money in the Bank, John Cena in his surprise return, teased London fans with the idea of hosting a WrestleMania event in London somewhere down the line. We know the 2024 edition of the event will be held in Philadelphia, PA, but that leaves WrestleMania 41 as the earliest the event could originate from the capital of England.

With the recent success of selling out the O2 Arena for Money in the Bank, which isn’t even a big four WWE pay-per-view, and the success of All Elite Wrestling’s All-In event, WWE needs to get their biggest stage to London as soon as possible at WrestleMania 41.

WWE has found a gem in international crowds, with rowdier fans bringing all the energy to the events they waited years for a chance to see live. The two-night event which typically is four-hour shows on back-to-back nights, could certainly benefit from having a packed house that wants to scream their heads off for hours on end.

WrestleMania in the past few years, at moments has felt like the show was dragging on with too many matches, but London could make the less interesting matches feel just as big as others by having loud crowd reactions for even the undercard matches.

Having this big of an event overseas also gives WWE stars who rarely have a chance to even compete on the same continent as their hometowns, to have more support behind them than ever before. Wrestlers like Becky Lynch, Gunther, and Drew McIntyre would all get tremendous receptions among international fans, who feel like they can get behind their “hometown” superstars.

The event would seemingly sell tickets very easily, because AEW has now sold over 80,000 tickets for their biggest show in London with no matches announced and still over a month and a half until August 27th.

International fans have been feeling the love recently from a variety of promotions, and there is no reason to stop now. Why would you not want to have your biggest event in a place that is almost a guaranteed sellout, depending on what venue is being used, and is certainly going to have one of the most vocal crowds in the entire world? London, England provides all the things WWE looks for when picking a venue, and an overseas WrestleMania is long overdue.
