Jade Cargill will target Becky Lynch on WWE Raw
By Mark Justice
WWE Raw is finalizing its road to WWE FastLane 2023, which is starting to shape up with some blockbuster matches pertaining to any ongoing Raw feuds. On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, Becky Lynch is scheduled to defend her NXT Women’s Title against Tegan Nox after successfully retaining it against Tiffany Stratton in a spectacular Extreme Rules Main Event at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, Main Event Jey Uso is scheduled to battle Mr. MITB Damian Priest in the main event of Raw, and Gunther is scheduled to have a, IC Title contract signing with Tommaso Ciampa.
In other news regarding WWE Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura finally answered Seth Rollins’ challenge for the world title and added a special stipulation of a Last Man Standing Match to their title rematch at FastLane. Zoey Stark and Shayna Baslzer are pursuing tag gold against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, but Nia Jax has been hindering that pursuit. Drew McIntyre’s heel turn has been compelling, as he has been tearing through the roster, especially New Day and Viking Raiders, and holding all babyfaces accountable for forgetting what Bloodline did to them in the past.
With that being said, the following will focus on the announced matches and the idea of Jade Cargill targeting Becky Lynch on the road to WWE FastLane 2023.
WWE Raw is scheduled to take place on October 2, 2023, live on the USA Network, and Jade Cargill will target Becky Lynch en route to WWE FastLane 2023.
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Tegan Nox [NXT Women’s Championship]
It is easy to say that Becky Lynch will defeat Tegan Nox to retain the NXT Women’s Title, as it is obvious Becky is not losing the title to Nox after Nox has been off TV for so long. Nonetheless, this wil be a star-making performance for Nox as she gets a solid rub from the very best in the business. However, getting some nearfalls in a losing effort won’t be enough. An epic storyline or feud has to happen to take Nox to that next level, so this match will result in a no contest with Jade Cargill debuting, forcing Nox and Lynch. to join forces as babyfaces in long term storyline.
Prediction: Jade Cargill Debuts
Main Event Jey Uso vs. Mr. MITB Damian Priest [MITB ShowCase Match]
Main Event Jey Uso will defeat Mr. MITB Damian Priest because he needs to redeem himself after his loss to McIntyre in the main event two weeks ago. Mr. MITB Damian Priest can take the loss without being harmed, as he is also already one half of the Undisputed Tag Champions.
Prediction: Main Event Jey Uso
Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler [Grudge Match]
Nia Jax will defeat Shayna Baszler because she is on a heel run tear since her return and needs to continue that dominance. These two have a lot of history, as they have been a tag team before. Since she ran through Baszler’s new partner, Zoey Stark, last week, she will win again this week.
Prediction: Nia Jax
Xavier Woods vs. Ivar [Grudge Match]
Xavier Woods will defeat Ivar because The New Day have been built for a future tag title shot since their return. They need to keep picking wins before getting that tag title shot, and Viking Raiders are the first top team they need to topple to get to that spot against Judgment Day in the future.
Prediction: Xavier Woods
Gunther vs. Tomasso Ciampa [IC Title Contract Signing]
Gunther and Tomasso Ciampa will have a riveting IC Title Contract Signing. While Ciampa defeated Imperium sidekicks, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, Bronson Reed also defeated Ciampa’s temporary sidekicks, Otis and Chad Gable from the Alpha Academy. Reed will likely interfere to claim a shot at the title as well. WWE will likely make Ciampa and Reed, who were feuding this summer, battle one more time to determine the true number one contender. If not, Johnny Gargano could return and save Ciampa from a potential beatdown from Imperium.
Prediction: Johnny Gargano Returns
