Bobby Lashley is reportedly heading to All Elite Wrestling. The multiple-time champion is looking for another place to add an accolade to his resume and AEW looks to be that next promotion. Lashley will be a big name to bring into the company in what is already a stacked division. Looking ahead, here are three big matches that must happen during his time with the company.

Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley have a history that isn’t talked about too often. The two men have been in the same promotion multiple times, showing up in both TNA and WWE. But it has been 11 years since the two men locked horns in a singles match. The last time occurred on IMPACT Wrestling episode 530 with Lashley getting the victory in just under 10 minutes. According to Cagematch, Samoa Joe has never defeated Bobby Lashley in a singles match.

If Lashley is going to work his way to the AEW title picture, an angle opposite a former champion in Samoa Joe would make sense. Imagine the battles these two veterans can have, and the promos that Joe and MVP would engage in. There’s a lot to play with here and Lashley versus Joe would deliver.

Powerhouse Hobbs

AEW fans and even those beyond want to see good things for Powerhouse Hobbs. His booking has been less than exceptional, with more starts and stops than many on the roster. One way to change that would be to pit him against Bobby Lashley.

At first glance, some will call for Hobbs to be paired with MVP, Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin in the Hurt Syndicate. But what if that is teased, only for Hobbs and Lashley to battle? Meat match anyone? Being involved with the Hurt Syndicate would be one of the biggest angles that Hobbs has been involved into date, which is exactly what he needs.

“Hangman” Adam Page

Lashley is poised to feud with Swerve Strickland, which is a wonderful way to introduce him into the promotion. As with the Samoa Joe recommendation, if Lashley is going to rise into title contention he’ll need to battle against those who’ve held the title in the past. “Hangman” Adam Page versus Bobby Lashley has “big match” feels written all over it. It doesn’t need to be a long angle, spanning several months. But slotting this as an AEW Dynamite main event would certainly garner attention.
