3 names who could join The Hurt Syndicate at AEW Full Gear
Bobby Lashley versus Swerve Strickland is one of the big matches set up for AEW Full Gear. Fans are watching closely to see how AEW books the multiple-time champion now that he’s made the jump to the company. Strickland is a fan-favorite in AEW and one of the most important names on the roster. MVP has hinted that The Hurt Syndicate is looking for a fourth member to add to the group. There are some guesses as to who it would be and here are three names that jump off the page.
Lio Rush
Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush have a distinct history. He was Lashley’s mouthpiece when he first returned to WWE, in what became an entertaining act. While it never worked out to be a successful act, due to the booking practices of the time, it’s still a link that could be played upon in AEW. Rush took on Shelton Benjamin in his first match, and recently battled Strickland as well. It would be interesting to see if Rush joins the Hurt Syndicate, but this is a choice that wouldn’t have the surprise factor when compared to the other options.
Ricky Starks
Adding Ricky Starks to The Hurt Syndicate would be a huge deal. Starks is a beloved figure on the AEW roster, but the company hasn’t leveraged him in the way fans want to see. His last match in AEW was back in March, and rumors continue to swirl about his status with the company. The one question would be how his star power would work if he’s placed in another faction. Starks is a power player in his own right and needs a strong singles run to rekindle the spark that has been missing. Would Starks be a long-term member? Or would this be the way to re-introduce him to the AEW ecosphere and kick off a strong singles run? Either one of those choices would be a positive step if Starks is back on television and used to his fullest potential.
Keith Lee
This would be the surprise option. Keith Lee has all the reasons in the world to still hate Swerve Strickland and want to cause him pain. It has nearly been one year since Lee stepped into the ring. Right before an undisclosed injury forced him to the sideline, Lee was focusing his attention on Strickland. That would never play out, even with Strickland dismissing his former partner in character. Imagine the pop that would come if Lee stormed down to the ring and assaulted Strickland, not only joining the Hurt Syndicate but revitalizing a feud that fans wanted to see. If he’s healthy and able to go full-time, this would be the move that fans would love the most.
