The Owen Hart Cup is pushing forward on both the men’s and women’s side. Kyle Fletcher and Will Ospreay have advanced on the men’s side. Brody King will take on Konosuke Takeshita while “Hangman” Adam Page has a match up against a “Wild Card” entrant. Who will be the man to step into that role? Here are three choices to fill that void.

Josh Alexander

The “Walking Weapon” is going to have to debut for All Elite Wrestling at some point. No better way than being a surprise entrant in a big tournament, taking on a former champion. Fightful Select has reported that Alexander is “expected” to sign with AEW. This would be another huge acquisition for Tony Khan’s promotion.

It has been more than 11 years since Alexander and Page shared a ring together. They once took part in a Tag Team Four Corner Survival match in Ring of Honor but have not crossed paths since. Using Page to welcome Alexander into AEW would be big, but there’s the situation of having an important free agent lose their first match, which is a situation that Alexander should not have to face.

Jack Perry

Having Jack Perry in this match against “Hangman” would make a lot of sense for the speculated direction at the top of the card. Perry is aligned with The Elite. The Young Bucks just cost Swerve Strickland the title at AEW Dynasty. The same night that Page attempted to help Strickland. Perry attempting to take out Page in this match would make sense, building on an expected angle to put these groups against each other in an upcoming Anarchy in the Arena match.

Cedric Alexander

Cedric Alexander, not related to Josh Alexander, is a free agent that many hope to show up in All Elite Wrestling. Seeing him rejoin MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley would be a huge moment – one that fans want to see. But before that happens, it would be a surprise to see him enter the Owen Hart Cup. He would have a great match against Page and isn’t in a position where fans would expect him to win at this point. If AEW wants to give a real surprise that leads to something more, Cedric Alexander is the name to go with.
