Bronson Reed returned to action during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, attacking Sami Zayn and CM Punk. This was his first sighting since being injured back in November. Now that he’s back and alongside Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman, this should kick off a run that sets him up as a main event threat for years to come.
Bronson Reed may not have been involved in the match officially, but he certainly had an impact. He’s the latest edition to the faction that holds the main event spot on Monday Night Raw. This is a big move for him, as it puts him firmly in a place of importance and has the potential to be a catalyst for him having a stronger run at the top of the card.
Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed are an interesting angle in WWE
There isn’t a lot to like about WWE’s creative direction the last few months. However, the work that Seth Rollins has done for much of his latest run, especially since CM Punk’s return, has been great and remains some of the best, if not the best on the main roster. Every night, he’s reminding the wrestling world that he’s one of the best in the business, and certainly the “ACE” of the WWE roster.
What makes this angle so important is that it sets up Bron Breakker, and now Bronson Reed as new faces who should fit firmly into some of the top spots on the main roster. Breakker is clearly being molded into a threat to any man on the roster. Expect Rollins to eventually win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and at some point, he’s going to have to face Breakker, who will snatch that title from around his waist. WrestleMania 42 has been in the news the last few days, and when the show arrives, do not be surprised if Breakker and Rollins are standing across from each other with the title on the line.
Bronson Reed was already positioned as a top threat before the injury at Survivor Series: WarGames. It will be interesting to see how WWE explains why Reed is joining Rollins. It was his attacks on Rollins that started the wave of momentum that started to push him forward, so there needs to be some reason they are now willing to work together. But Reed as the newest Paul Heyman Guy? That’s the type of stuff that should get fans excited.
Bronson Reed is back and firmly in the main event scene. How will that play out? Only time will tell, but he should see the momentum he lost before his injury come back in spades.
