Giulia will defeat Roxanne Perez for the WWE NXT Women's Championship
WWE NXT kicks off its 2025 campaign with New Year’s Evil on January 7. While this isn’t a traditional PLE set for a Saturday or Sunday, it is already shaping up to be a huge event. Two title matches are booked, with one featuring Roxanne Perez versus Giulia. Looking at the future of the NXT Women’s Division, it’s time for Perez to drop that title to Giulia.
Roxanne Perez has been the pillar not only for the NXT women’s division, but the brand entirely. When she walked into WWE, many knew that she was a talented prospect to keep an eye on. But she’s quickly become a vital piece to the future of women’s wrestling, both in WWE and beyond. Her run as NXT Champion has been transformative, taking her out of the simple babyface role and showing she can play the dastardly heel character as well. She’s achieved all that was possible to her in NXT, and now her focus should be on the main roster.
To get there, dropping that championship to Giulia is the last step. She’s already defeated the multiple-time champion thanks to the help of Cora Jade. Giulia’s returned to the number one contender’s spot and it wouldn’t make sense for her to be booked to lose again. WWE brought her in to leverage her name as a top performer in NXT. There are several names queued up to work with her once she becomes champion. Giulia versus Stephanie Vaquer has main event written all over it, and a feud that will happen for years over.
Roxanne Perez versus Giulia should be the featured match at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil. Perez deserves the main event, and her title reign has been one of the brightest spots on NXT television in recent years. Dropping the championship to Giulia needs to be handled as a monumental transition, and one that will kick off 2025 with the momentum this division needs to continue its successful run.
