WWE NXT is the best presentation of women's wrestling today
WWE NXT Halloween Havoc is set for Sunday, October 27. It's a strong card featuring some interesting matchups for the Tuesday night brand. The October 22 edition of the show ended with ZARIA (formerly known as DELTA) making a surpring appearance. This is yet another big signing for the brand and another point that NXT has the deepest and best-presented women's division in wrestling.
WWE NXT has two hours of television each week, yet continues to do what other promotions struggle to achieve. The show features women in several segments and matches each week. And these matches are given nearly equal, if not more time than the men's divisions. The October 22 episode featured 26 women on screen at some point, without there being a battle royale or lumberjack style match. Ten of those women wrestled full matches, which included both opening and being the main event.
Fans continue to push for this type of booking on both WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Those brands feature talented pools of women wrestlers, but they do not get the same type of opportunities as the women's division in WWE NXT. This is especially unfortunate when you take into account the resources available to those two main roster platforms.
Fans have also pushed for All Elite Wrestling to improve the presentation of the women's division on its shows. While there has been positive changes in some ways, the "feeling" is that the women's division has lost some of the momentum it once held a few short months ago.
WWE NXT continues to shine with its women's division. Roxanne Perez is carrying the flag, while new names like Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and ZARIA created a rush of excitement for what's to come. Cora Jade has returned, giving the division another fresh new name WWE has a lot of hope in for the future. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson are getting a lot of time on the main roster, with fans responding positively to them both. And one can't forget the likes of Kelani Jordan, Jaida Parker, Lola Vice, Wendy Choo, Tatum Paxley, and several others getting time on the show. The cupboards are certainly bursting at the seems.
WWE NXT is a clear example of how women's wrestling should be presented across all wrestling promotions. Several women are getting their time to shine and its paying off with a strong reception from fans. The ladies aren't waiting for their time, as they've seized the moment right in front of them.
