The October 8 edition of WWE NXT featured a major debut. Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez stood in the ring, beckoning Giulia to walk into a two-on-one situation. But she responded with some backup on her own in the form of Stephanie Vaquer. Vaquer has been on her way to NXT for months and she’s yet another big name added to this packed women’s division.

Vaquer comes into the WWE with 15 years of experience, even though she’s only 31 years old. That career has seen her appear in several of the most-recognized names in professional wrestling, including All Elite Wrestling, New Japan, Warrior Wrestling, CMLL, Rev Pro and several others. Along the way, the most prominent titles she’s captured include the CMLL World Women’s Championship, the World Women’s Tag Team Championship with Zeuxis, and the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.

For many, it was Vaquer’s run in NJPW Strong that put her in front of mainstream fans. During the initial tournament, she and Mercedes Mone had an excellent match. They ran it back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door this year, and WWE quickly swiped her off the free agency market. This led many to speculate that WWE wasn’t familiar with her until that match, but it eventually came out that Vaquer had a tryout with WWE years prior and wasn’t picked up by the company at the time.

Vaquer is a name that immediately adds even more depth to the NXT women’s division. Much like Giulia, she brings a wealth of experience from around the world. She’s stepped in the ring with some of the biggest names in women’s wrestling, ensuring that she’s capable of being paired against anyone on NXT’s developing roster. Then there’s the opportunity to create dream matches with Vaquer against some of the more established names in WWE like IYO Sky, Lyra Valkyria, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair, and others.

WWE NXT continues to build the strongest women’s division in wrestling. Stephanie Vaquer was added to the company’s list months ago and she’s finally made her first appearance on NXT television. She’s slotted into the main event picture, exactly where she should be and this will be yet another name for fans to look forward to watching every week.
