Karrion Kross was one of the hot talking points last week. He took a loss at the hands of Sami Zayn at SummerSlam, then Fightful Select gave an update on the status of his and Scarlett’s WWE contracts. If Kross is on his way out of the company, he should look to TNA Wrestling, where he’d had the opportunity to shine as a main event talent and prove that this is his time.
According to Fightful Select’s report, both Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts are set to end the weekend of August 9-10. As of that writing on August 4, neither performer was offered a new deal, and they were not at the Monday Night Raw taping that night. That led to speculation online that their time with the company was going to end, but as of August 7, there hasn’t been an official announcement.
If Kross and Scarlett are no longer a part of WWE, TNA Wrestling would make perfect sense for their return. TNA Wrestling has a presentation of sports entertainment that is more in alignment with what WWE gives to fans. That style of presentation played a part in Kross gaining momentum these last few months, and he should look to remain in a space that is similar.
Some saw Kross as a main event talent amongst his peers in WWE, but those with the almighty pen did not agree. But in TNA Wrestling, Kross would immediately stand out as a top threat, with the potential to hold the title for a lengthy run. If that fan support, he saw in WWE, follows him to TNA, that would go a long way in proving his value as a name in the industry.
Some will point to either All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling as options, and while viable, they are different from what happens in WWE. In those promotions, in-ring work stands out as the most important factor in building stars. Kross is serviceable when the bell rings, but he’s not one who ever stood out in that department. He’s had interesting matches, but this was still the area where his detractors pointed to his biggest limitations. However, a run in NJPW as a “foreign threat” would be an interesting look for Kross coming off his recent stint in WWE.
Karrion Kross is one of the more interesting names in wrestling today. Partly because of the wide variety of opinions that exist about his performance. If he is truly set to depart from WWE, it will be intriguing where he shows up next. TNA Wrestling stands out as the frontrunner, but a longer run in New Japan Pro could also gather eyeballs.
