Wrestling fans may want to turn away, but they should prepare themselves for Logan Paul to hold a WWE Championship. The moment may not come at WrestleMania 41, but Paul checks all the boxes that WWE, especially this iteration of the promotion, wants in a champion. He’s destined to hold a title and not for the reasons that your favorite legends did the same.

CM Punk spent the opening minutes of the February 24 episode of Monday Night Raw running down Logan Paul. He hit on a lot of points, typical detractions one would expect from a veteran of Punk’s stature talking to a 29-year-old celebrity who decided to make the jump to professional wrestling without cutting their teeth through the same avenues as Punk and others had to early in their careers.

It was your standard opening segment, nothing out of the ordinary. Yet, it is still hard to ignore Paul’s rise in the company. According to Cagematch he has 17 total matches in the last three years. He started at WrestleMania 38 and has been on a roll ever since. Many praise Paul for his improvements in the ring, with some claiming that he’s the best celebrity wrestler ever to do it. But that still hasn’t translated into support from fans, and to be frank, it probably never will.

Logan Paul will be a WWE Champion at some point. This is a company that looks for every opportunity to present as a “mainstream” platform. Every week celebrities in the crowd get more time on television than some of the popular members of the women’s division. WWE has long done all it can to link itself to whatever is trending in popular culture, which is one of the reasons why Logan and his brother Jake were eventually brought in.

Logan Paul is a mainstream attraction in the eyes of the WWE

Paul’s transition to “full time” was unexpected but certainly welcomed as it gives the company a headline-grabbing name in today’s media world. He responded by performing admirably in the ring. He doesn’t need to go out and put on five-star classics like Will Ospreay or Bryan Danielson. All Paul must do is keep up with WWE’s style of matches, and not only has he done that, but he’s exceeded when the opportunity presented itself.

He's currently sitting at a 7.00 match rating on Cagematch which is typically higher than many of the men on the WWE roster. He’s had some good offerings like his 2022 match against Roman Reigns and his 2024 contest against Cody Rhodes. When put in the right situation, Paul can deliver with his in-ring performances.

Hardcore wrestling fans may not like it, but they should start preparing themselves for the moment that Logan Paul becomes a world champion. WWE is investing a lot in his transition to wrestling and so far it’s paying off. It will be interesting to see the reaction to him holding a top title in the company, but there will certainly be a loud contingent of fans with a negative response.
