Lyra Valkyria and Bayley were given 13 minutes to put on a great women’s match during the April 7 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. This was a fun match that fans enjoyed from start to finish. This is yet another example of why Valkyria should have a major singles match at WrestleMania 41.

When Lyra Valkyria was first introduced to the main roster, it seemed like WWE had the intent of getting a lot of momentum behind her. She was immediately inserted into the main event picture. She’d surprisingly advance to the finals of the 2024 Queen of the Ring, putting on a strong showing against the eventual winner in Nia Jax. Then all of that came to a sudden end.

Flash forward to 2024. Valkyria is the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Fans were excited when she initially won the title on January 13. However, nearly six weeks would pass before she would defend that title. Since then, things have changed, with Valkyria having amassed three more well-received title defenses since.

What’s even more important is to recognize that the fan reaction to Valkyria is growing ever week. Her ring entrance is getting more reaction from fans and the crowds remain loud during her matches. Momentum is moving in the right direction again.

The time is now to feature Lyra Valkyria in a big match at WrestleMania

As that momentum grows, now is the time to put Lyra Valkyria in a big match during the most important show of the year. Her booking should have similar trajectory as Bron Breakker is experiencing. It was announced that he will take on Finn Balor, Dominick Mysterio, and Penta in what will be a fun showcase at WrestleMania. Valkyria doesn’t need a multi-woman match, but she should have something of her own on the same show.

Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and IYO Sky are holding down the main event scene perfectly fine. That leaves several competent stars who should be in the orbit of the Intercontinental Title. Think about what Valkyria could do with the likes of Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, Natalya, or even Maxxine Dupri. The company could even reach into WWE NXT to bring up someone like Roxanne Perez, who took Valkyria’s WWE Women’s NXT Championship in April 2024. There are so many opportunities it’s nearly negligent for the company to miss.

Ten matches are announced for WrestleMania 41. None of them feature the women’s midcard titles. WWE needs to correct that issue by booking something big for Lyra Valkyria to build both her legacy and that of the new championship.
