Jamie Hayter is a beloved member of the AEW roster. The former champion brings the heat every time she steps into the ring, but the frequency in which she does so has been hampered due to multiple injuries. Fightful Select reported that Hayter “hasn’t been cleared,” which has impacted her current angle in the promotion.
According to Fightful Select, “sources in the company said that Hayter would be booked if she were available and indicated she hasn’t been cleared.”
Hayter’s last in-ring action came back at AEW Double or Nothing, where Mercedes Mone defeated her in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Final. After that, she was attacked by the debuting Thekla but has not competed since. Fightful’s report also mentions that Hayter not being cleared is the reason AEW had to “get creative” with that in-ring moment, dropping the lights down and up to open the door for Thekla’s attack.
Hayter’s injury status has not been officially confirmed by All Elite Wrestling, nor is there a timetable for her return.
Jamie Hayter’s AEW run continues to be plagued by injuries
Jamie Hayter continues to suffer from injuries that cut into her rising momentum. When she picked up the AEW Women’s World Championship back in 2023, that run came to an end due to a serious back injury that almost ended her career.
“I wasn’t even aware of the injury until it was really bad. I couldn’t walk,” Hayter said while speaking to Renee Paquette back in September of 2024. “It got to a point where I was like I don’t know if I even want to do it again. I don’t know why. I think it was the pain and everything that happened. I just really wasn’t sure. It was almost like I had to find myself again, find my purpose, and find my passion to do it again.”
Hayter would return in August of 2024 and has been consistently featured since, up until this latest situation. Along the way, she picked up wins against Harley Cameron, Saraya, Penelope Ford, Billie Starkz, Kris Statlander, and others.
