2026 is on the horizon and WWE fans are hyped for what is to come. The Royal Rumble is a few weeks away and that will kick off the road to WrestleMania. While there are several rumors afloat for what may happen at the two-night show, Matt Hardy took it upon himself to add some fuel to the bubbling fire. After The Usos defeated AJ Styles and Dragon Lee on the December 29 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, Hardy hinted at what could be a major dream match for WrestleMania. One that would certainly get fans in front of their televisions and in the seats.
Jimmy and Jey Uso defeated AJ Styles and Dragon Lee to once again become Tag Team Champions. They are one of the best teams in not only the WWE, but all of wrestling history. While some of their fans may disagree, the debate about who is the best is a tough discussion. Two other teams who will have a slot on the list are The New Day and The Hardy Boyz. Matt Hardy hinted that perhaps it is time for the three teams to get in the ring to settle things.
Matt Hardy drops a big idea for WrestleMania 42
“Congrats WWE Usos! Well deserved win as you guys absolutely killed it,” Hardy posted on Twitter. “Maybe at WrestleMania, it’s time for The Usos vs The New Day vs The Hardy Boyz in a generational dream match.”
Congrats, @WWEUsos! Well deserved win as you guys absolutely killed it.

Maybe at @WrestleMania, it’s time for The Usos vs The New Day vs The Hardy Boyz in a generational dream match. https://t.co/jXjQOBXiPM
That tweet has since caught fire with more than one million impressions. Fans have taken to the comment section to express their excitement and their opinion on who would win. Hardy upped the stakes by even calling for a TLC match between the three teams in a later re-post message.
The Hardy Boyz versus The New Day versus The Usos would be a monumental match. The type of affair that makes WrestleMania exactly what it is, the biggest show in wrestling each year. Jimmy and Jey Uso have a storied history against Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The teams have traded tag team championships several times.
However, neither team has ever faced Matt and Jeff Hardy. The Hardy Boyz are currently contracted to TNA Wrestling, but that isn’t as much of a hurdle as it once was. The partnership between TNA and WWE has allowed The Hardys to continue to find success in WWE, recently winning the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship. No one would be surprised if they were brought in for one more big match. This could even be seen as a retirement tour of such for the brothers, adding their name to the long list of performers who’ve walked away from in-ring action these last few years.
Fans can expect WrestleMania 42 to be packed with big matches. If the tag team division needed something special, a match between The Hardy Boyz, The Usos, and The New Day would solve that problem. Sprinkle in the spice of making it a TLC match and watch the magic happen.
