Megan Bayne has the makings of a star for All Elite Wrestling
Toni Storm walked out of AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage with the win in the Women’s Casino Gauntlet Match. She’s earned a shot at Mariah May’s AEW Women’s World Championship. But fans were re-introduced to Megan Bayne, and she stole the show the moment she walked through the curtain. She’s a talented performer that the wrestling community should keep a close eye on as she can have a huge impact on women’s wrestling in AEW.
A single glance at Bayne elicits an immediate response of “who is she!?” According to Cagematch, Bayne stands at 5’11 and weighs in at 187 pounds. She immediately towered over the other ladies in the ring. That included many of the heavy hitters in AEW of Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter. Seeing Bayne standing next to and dominating them was the exact way to get fans excited about this young performer.
Bayne is only 26 years old and already has eight years of experience under her belt. She’s competed in organizations like House of Glory, GCW, STARDOM and Beyond Wrestling. Before turning up in the gauntlet match, Bayne was last seen in AEW back in 2022 when she wrestled two dark matches for the company. Since then, fans wondered what her status was with the company as she competed for independent organizations. According to Fightful Select, Bayne signed with AEW.
Megan Bayne has some matches worth researching. For example, she and the new WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Giulia had an excellent showcase of a match in STARDOM back in 2023. During that run, Bayne had several other matches that were well-rated by fans and peers alike. She’s held three championships during her career: the ICW and OVW Women’s Championship, plus she’s the current HOG Women’s Champion.
Megan Bayne has all the makings of a star in professional wrestling. She passes the proverbial “airport test” every time she walks into any room. All Elite Wrestling has struggled to book its women’s division well, and dropping the ball on booking Bayne well would be a huge mistake.
