The AEW Women's Division is stacked with talent. There are so many young performers and established talent on this roster. When talking who is "next" for their breakthrough moment, there are so many women to pick from. Yet, there's one who is ready right now and when (not if) she gets her hands on the AEW Women's World Championship she's going to have a a long run. That woman is Megan Bayne, and she's destined to hold that title.

Megan Bayne looks like a video game character. In fact, she looks like the final boss who would appear at the end of any video game, action, fighting, doesn't matter the genre. At 5'11 and 187 pounds, Bayne is a giant within the division, and in fact, she has a bigger presence than many of the men on the AEW roster.

It's almost astounding to realize that Bayne has nearly a decade of experience, and yet she hasn't had the opportunity to stand firmly as a top champion in a major promotion. She's held three championships during her career, but none of them are for big organizations, as of yet. That should change, and it should change in All Elite Wrestling.

Kris Statlander overcame a massive challenge at AEW Full Gear 2025. She pushed back Mercedes Mone in the only outcome that made sense for the story Mone is telling. Statlander is one of the most popular and important wrestles in AEW, and seeing her hold the championship is something that was long overdue. She deserves a long and healthy run, one that is a testament to what she's meant for this company the last few years.

But all great reigns must come to an end, and that is where Bayne comes into play. Bayne has already stepped up to challenge for the title, taking on Toni Storm back when the latter was at the top of the pile. For many, that felt like a rushed storyline and one that should have seen Bayne capture the title in dominating fashion. That wasn't the case at that point in the story, but at some point that title will end up in Bayne's hands.

If booked correctly, Megan Bayne is the type of performer who could hold the AEW Women's World Championship for a year. She looks the part. Wrestles the part. The one area where she could improve is working the microphone, but there are ways around that in today's professional wrestling landscape. AEW has done an excellent job building performers into massive championship threats who fans want to see capture the gold. Bayne could be the next in that development cycle, making her a "final boss" type of champion. One who a babyface Mercedes Mone would have to overcome to finally win the big one perhaps.

Women's wrestling has carried much of the business in 2025. Megan Bayne has been a key part in the success AEW has seen with its women's division this year. At some point, she's going to hold the AEW Women's World Championship and she's going to be a dominating boss along the way.
