All Elite Wrestling is telling some amazing stories. While some critics stick to their bad faith claims about AEW being just about matches, those that follow what is going on know that stories are being told both within and outside the ring. Bryan Danielson is heading on his own quest and this looks to be the one that will close out his career. Who is the one that will end his career in the final match? That honor should go to Jon Moxley

Retirements in professional wrestling are a tough tale to tell. Oftentimes, an individual walks away from competition, just to come back for one last ride. Or several “last” rides. That doesn’t feel like it will be the case for Bryan Danielson. Years of putting on some of the best professional wrestling in the industry have taken a toll on his body. So much so, that there’s growing concern about real injuries heading into this retirement tour. It feels like when Danielson hangs it up, those boots will stay that way.

There’s a push for Danielson to pick up big victories and perhaps the AEW World Championship at All In. Taking that title from Swerve Strickland would be another big accolade for Danielson, one that holds great value seeing as what he means to AEW. But at some point, someone will defeat Danielson to close out this story, that’s where Moxley comes into play.

Moxley and Danielson have been tied together for years. Back at AEW Revolution 2022, Moxley picked up his first win over Danielson. But what happened after that match set the gears in motion for the force that is the Blackpool Combat Club. Now, two years later, the faction is still a force in AEW, but there’s rumblings that it is time to split them up. And that split could lead to a fantastic story between Moxley and Danielson, leading to the latter’s retirement. Does it have to be for the championship? No, because this would be such a powerful story that it could be told without that. Moxley versus Danielson in what would be deemed a retirement match has all the power to be a PPV main event on its own. Moxley being the final man to stand over Danielson has all the makings of a huge build and payoff.

Bryan Danielson’s time as a full-time performer is coming to an end. He may even be closer to retirement as reports about his injuries continue to pour out. Someone will have to be the one to finally end his career and that man should be none other than Jon Moxley.
