The amount of free agency news hitting professional wrestling continues to grow. There are several names poised to go through or currently going through contract negotiations. Fightful Select revealed an interesting addition to that list on Wednesday. Kamille is set to end her time with the NWA on January 1, putting a captivating name in women’s wrestling on the market.
Kamille has been the most important woman on the NWA roster for much of her time with the company. While her name will fly under the radar for some mainstream fans, she has the potential to be a bigger draw in another company.
Kamille is only 30 years old and has six years of wrestling experience under her belt. She should be considered a strong prospect in the industry, but being under the NWA’s banner has kept her out of the limelight that was enjoyed by many of her peers. Holding the NWA Women’s World Championship for 812 days deserves praise on its own and should be the first thing brought up when attempting to make her a credible name wherever she steps next. That is the question that will be interesting to see unfold in the coming months.
Kamille’s career has allowed her to perform for several important organizations like AAA, Warrior Wrestling, and plenty of others. But now is the time a companies like IMPACT, AEW, or WWE to come calling. Seeing Kamille on a bigger stage would not only introduce more fans to her as a performer but also put her in a position to build her abilities in a promotion with better structure. NWA has a strong, but niche following, and many individuals have outgrown that market. See Eddie Kingston, LA Knight, Ricky Starks, and Thunder Rosa as examples.
There are some interesting matches in all three companies that fans would want to see. Names like Trinity Fatu, Bianca Belair, Kris Statlander, and many others jump off the page. Somewhere like WWE NXT would be a great place for her at this point in her career, giving her the space to work under some credible trainers and a show that consistently focuses on the women’s division. There’s opportunity for Kamille across wrestling and she is sure to draw interest from the biggest groups.
The 2024 free agency market is going to be something to watch in 2024. Expect several names to jump ship while others remain after getting bigger deals. Kamille has already made it clear she plans to leave NWA according to the Fightful Select report. Her next steps will help whichever women’s division she joins.
