Megan Thee Stallion is the next star WWE needs to bring in for a show
While the wrestling community may not be the most welcoming to women and people of color, the industry certainly loves the culture – especially aspects of Black culture. From characters, and music, to special guests – top promotions are quick to find ways to partner with the biggest names in entertainment. WWE NXT hit a massive ratings number this past week, thanks heavily to the involvement of Sexxy Red. Think what you want about her antics or music, she drew in some ratings. If WWE wants to make another big moment out of a special guest, they should look no further than the one known as Megan Thee Stallion.
Megan doesn’t need much of an introduction. Wrestling “fans” wouldn’t be able to respond with their typical “who” anytime someone from outside the industry is brought on television. Megan has nearly 32 million followers on Instagram, 8 million followers on Twitter, and 13.6 million on TikTok. She’s an international star that transcends the music industry. Megan Thee Stallion is the exact type of crossover star that WWE covets and she’s the next individual the organization should work to bring into the fold.
Think about the coverage that Megan could get standing alongside Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Belair has already appeared in several pictures with Megan within the entertainment world, which should be the door to bring her in for an appearance or two on SmackDown. SummerSlam is right around the corner, and if the WWE is looking to present this as a major show, one way to do so would be to get a major star of her stature to be involved. She doesn’t have to do a match or anything of the matter but think about the potential attention that would come with her being in a segment or two, and “hosting” SummerSlam. The headlines would write themselves.
One thing that makes WWE different from other promotions is that it finds a way to bring in the biggest stars from the entertainment industry. If it is going to continue that trend, the company should go after one of the biggest names in music today, Megan Thee Stallion.
