AEW Blood & Guts is a major annual showcase. It’s a barbaric match style that fits into the hardcore nature of AEW. This year, The Elite is looking to further lock down its hold on the company by winning the cage match. Swerve Strickland and Mark Briscoe are ready to oppose them, but they still need three more allies to bring things even. Looking at the makeup of AEW, here are three men who should join the fray.

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley is the most important individual on the AEW roster. He’s the one that the company can count on to step into a role at the top of the card at any moment. Moxley has carried the company on his back and he does so without having to give one of those “rah-rah” type speeches to the crowd. He’s one of the most believable figures in professional wrestling and that elevates everything he does. Slotting him into this match as a reluctant partner to Strickland, just to defend the promotion that gave his career this rebirth would be an interesting story to see play out.

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson and Swerve Strickland have some business to deal with at All In. This is a huge contest with fans hoping that either Strickland gets another title-run-defining victory or Danielson finally gets the championship win as his career closes. But seeing them come together to push back against The Elite would be an intriguing wrinkle leading to the build of their singles match. Danielson has been a vital part of AEW since joining the company, and one of the catalysts that led to its highest point. If Moxley joined the group, it would also make sense to see Danielson join with one of his closest allies.

Ricky Starks

This is the long shot. Stories about Ricky Starks’s issues in AEW have been out for months. He hasn’t been seen on television since March. While his escapades in Europe on social media are funny to watch, fans want to see him on television in big matches and angles. If he were booked to be a surprise addition to this match on the side of AEW, he’d be immediately slotted into one of the biggest angles in the company. It could be an opportunity to finally give him that push toward the top that fans have long wanted to see but continue to stall. That is only true if the two sides can come together for this to happen.
