Randy Savage

Truly one of the all-time greats, “Macho Man” Randy Savage was a star in every sense of the word.  He had done it all in wrestling, winning championships and tournaments around the world, however, the one thing he never did was win the Royal Rumble.

His two best chances were two years in a row.  In 1992 with the WWF Championship on the line, Savage was among the final four wrestlers in the match before being eliminated by Sid Vicious.

One year later, drawing number thirty, Savage had his greatest chance to win the Royal Rumble.  It came down to him and a young upstart by the name of Yokozuna.  Savage did everything he could to stay with Yokozuna.  He eventually knocked him down and even hit his flying elbow drop.

Except he made one crucial mistake, going for a pinfall.  Yokozuna kicked out and Savage was eliminated thus ending his dream of winning the Rumble.  Savage would compete one more time in the Royal Rumble before going to WCW, but a Savage win in the Royal Rumble will always leave fans thinking about what could’ve been.
